What's up guys! Anyone near, or up for a drive to, Cockaponset state Forest? I know a few trails over that way. 1 is like 5 minutes and you have to turn around at that is easy, 1 is about 15 minutes with 2 big mud puddles big enough I won't go through alone, and 1 started to get rougher after about 5 minutes so I did not push on alone. I don't think there is anything crazy, but I am hesitant to push my luck without another vehicle. Also, anyone near Naugatuck? I got stuck in some mud yesterday (My first time! Write-up below) and had to call a Jeep... Blech. Fortunately I got myself out and called them off. There were a few places I wanted to look into further, which very well may be nothing, but figured I'd see if anyone was available to save me when I get in over my head

I’m in Naugatuck. There’s no legal trails here to go on.

I picked up a Craftsman from Lowe’s for my UCA’s and its been fine. Personally I wouldn’t buy one from HF unless I planned on sending it out to be calibrated. Again that’s just my personal preference.

Heard great things about the digital torque thing from HFT for $35 and about it being on the money. You can check/calibrate with a luggage scale from videos I’ve seen online.

I haven’t bought enough one for myself yet though

I was actually at my local hardware store in town last night to get a couple things. Ended up grabbing a craftsman, and am happy the money is staying local (not that its a massive purchase). Also grabbed a seamer to move the pinch weld cleanly to clear the uca bolts. I read about that somewhere on the forum but forgot where so I cant give credit where its due.

Hey gang! Checking in long time no see. Just got back from block island which is always a good time. Back to work now catching up on a shit ton I missed.

I still have a set of hella horns on my work bench. I think that was TomB who wanted them. Let me know where to mail them and I’ll send out. Or stop by Georgetown some time.

looking for some headlight advice. Got one headlight that has fogged out, clearly a seal has gone bad. And the other headlight is older and showing the yellowing of the plastic. I just swapped both rear lights from Amazon for OEM look alike and they were only 145$ for two. Anyone have suggestions on the front lights? I can get oem look alike again for cheap but there are several other led halo or other aftermarket options that look newer. I was hoping some of you had input.
    Thanks guys!
    Steve

That bolt was a bitch on the drivers side for me. Yes the pinch was kinda in the way but it was the electrical harness near it that busted my balls. I had to remove a 10mm bolt that really could have used a child’s hand to maneuver lol. Not sure if yours has the same harness. Something to look for going in though

That would be awesome! I have come across 1 real 'trail' that is only about 15 minutes, 1 that went a few minutes in and you had to turn around, and a possible trail that I turned around at because I was getting too deep without another vehicle.

I believe the meet up is at 695 Co Rd 23B, Leeds, NY 12451 but I will double check. They said Home Depot in Catskill next to a Stewarts, and Google Maps says there's one next door

Here are 3 great threads talking about headlights and led lighting. Biggest thing is not to use drop- in led bulbs for headlights or fog lights. They are all crap and a downgrade. I have headlight Assemblies from Opt7, with +130% halogen bulbs and I enjoy the look and the performance is pretty good. Best option is OEM headlight Assemblies with the H4 bulb upgrade. Other than that a "true upgrade" would be OEM headlight Assemblies with an hid projector retrofit.
