    morning!

Anyone here have any experience replacing their tailgate lock? I have a '16 which takes a separate key, one which didn't come with the truck, so my options are an $80+ cylinder from Toyota and an hour of labor, putting me around $230, or buying my own and self-installing. Happy to self install, but I want to make sure I get the right cylinder. I've found a few online, but they don't seem to differentiate between a door cylinder or a tailgate cylinder. Is there a specific one I need, or are they fairly interchangeable?

I ended up going with the Camburg UCAs because they take a toyota factory upper bj when I have to rebuild them. That kind of simplicity seems like its 100% worth it to me. Plus I was able to get them from headstrong offroad, which is where I prefer to shop

    Still don't know :hattip:

    John :hattip:

Hey, why not eliminate the key altogether and go electronic? @pdenajim Jim installed his own Pop-N-Lock and I have all the parts to do mine, as soon as I get the energy. Maybe we can get together on a Saturday or Sunday and knock it out together. I bought the parts to do mine off Amazon, not the actual Pop-N-Lock version.

Here's where I got all my inspiration:

Jonathan :hattip: Stumped me. And I have seen every movie made.

    Again, stumped. :frusty:

Ok, now I need to figure out. To the Google Cave Googleman!
