Nice! The one thing that has me curious though is after you get it swung down, how do you remove the nuts holding the tire on? If you take them off before you do the swang, what keeps the tire from falling off onto your feets?

Am I just having a blonde moment?

I may be interested, I have to check compatibility. I have a '16 OR DCSB and want to put a heavier front bumper on with a winch, but I don't know what the current shocks on my truck are so I have to check and see if they will handle it. How cheap?

I genuinely thought about it, but if you install that, it's locked every time your truck is locked. I don't want to have to get out my fob to unlock my truck any time I put something in the bed; I just want to be able to secure the tailgate for an overnight camping trip or something similar.

That said, I'm more than happy to give you a hand working yours out, it sounds like a fun project!

 NOOOOOO, to remove the tire, do you just unbolt it in the upright position or lower it to make it easier for old guys like me? Is there a davit accessory I can add? :D

What do you all do to your frames to prepare for winter? I was thinking of pressure wash, rust converter then fluid film on everything underneath. Possibly going to a place in PA for the fluid film if they have the stuff to get inside the frame.

Nothing yet, new to me truck. That said, I do have to make an appointment for my frame coat.

Yea, I'll have to give you a call and you can swing by and have a couple beers. Meet Jim @pdenajim

I'm pretty sure when it's wired up it works like however you have the rest of the door lock/unlock functions. When I touch mine all the doors unlock, and when I put it in drive they all lock, then when I go to park they all unlock again. That is efficient enough for me. I keep my fob in my pocket and my tailgate key in the console so it works out for me.

My only regert is, I need a power lock for the damn cap. Not having that negates everything. :bananadead: When I am at home though or in the hood I leave the cap unlocked. My spare is in there but locked up nice. When I was a kid we use to be able to leave our doors unlocked and wide open on the house all the time. Times sure have changed. Oh, and I had to walk to school, uphill, in the snow, in flip flops, both ways too. :angrygirl:

    First world problems su-uck.

I’m sure that they’ve not changed how they coat the frame between the 16 to 18 and the 19 to 20 but mine not included in that. Maybe in a few years. good luck when you go!

What kind of cap do you have? I have a soft trifold cover that you need to open the tailgate in order to unlatch it, so locking the tailgate secures it enough unless someone wants to cut it open, but at that point I'm f***ed either way lol. And let me know, I like beer. And whiskey!
