I love mine after two years. Very functional. No one sees them but me. Would be pretty easy to swap if you wanted to. The 3m tape isn’t too difficult to pull off, but is strong enough that you don’t need to worry about it falling off on its own.

Can't argue with you there... but when other vendors are having sales, I have to jump on their deals and come back to this. Eventually.

@mattgecko What wire gauge would you have supplied last year with your 2016+ DCSB bed light kit? Trying to figure out if I can hang an additional 1.7 Amp LED light off the output of the bed switch without starting a fire?

20 gauge, yes you can add it as my bed light kit draws less than 2 amps. Be sure the fuse does not exceed 5 amp.

Is it possible to make a custom LED setup to go along the underside of the body by the pinch welds?

    Hi Matt,
Hey at one time you said that there was a guy on here that could help me out wiring things up the way I wanted. That is, to be tied into/mimic the in cab overhead lighting.

    What is that guys name?
    Thanks,
    Rob

There is a way to do it, using the DSIM module if that's what you're looking for. I plan on doing something like that.

The DSIM module, that's an LED regulator/control module that connects to the battery, right? Do you recommend that?

Link to DSIM module for more detail. As I understand it, the primary purpose is to convert the negative switched dome light trigger to a positive pulse for aux lighting.

I have the harness for a wiring project I haven't started, considering getting the module itself too but haven't yet found any desire to add under-vehicle lighting.

Like the two guys below said, it's pretty much used to trigger additional lights based off the dome circuit.
I plan on using the module for something completely different, not under vehicle lighting, but overhead.
Yup, that idea was brought up by me first (I think) since I wanted to make crazy ideas...

Ok, before I get my hopes up, here's what I want to be able to do.

I want to mount LED strip lighting under the hood, under the rocker panels (at the pinch welds), possibly under both bumpers and finally inside the cap to the ceiling, and under the bed rails.

I know, that's a lot of lighting strips. This will done as I can afford it and for now, my primary goal is to get the lighting in the ceiling of the cap. It's carpeted so I am thinking some velcro strips will be perfect. It will allow me to adjust them as needed for optimal illumination as I build out the interior.

The other thing I want to be able to do is either have red and white strips or RGB strips. I want white when I need maximum light, and red for night use if the area I am camping at is really buggy.

Finally, and this is the most important thing. I want all the light strips to mimic the actions of the in cab overhead lighting in every way. I want them all to illuminate when I approach the vehicle, to illuminate when I unlock the doors, or open a door, etc. I also want the interior cap lighting to be on a switch so it's the only lighting on if needed.

Am I asking too much? :(

Sounds like the DSIM module to me. Except you would need some sort of physical switch to change from white to red. As for the cap lighting, that's a separate thing Matt already sells.
