You got a picture of what your Tacoma looks like after the lift and tires?

Sweet looking truck! So they say 275 is the sweet spot to not have to cut or trim. I think the difference from 285 and 275 isn’t much. I will be doing 2.5-2.75 lift so I may play it safe with 275.

I like the look of those front hooks.

Did you use wheel spacers to have the wheel stick out a bit?

Thanks man, I am really happy with the ride and the look of the truck although I'd be the first to admit that 285's just really fill out the wheel well and they seem to balloon out on 17-inch wheels and really look good on these trucks.

I guess it all comes down to what you like, I like the looks of slight lift and a wide stance, kind of what makes Ford Raptors look good to me. I'm not a fan of super tall lifts with wheels that don't seem like they tuck in the wheel well correctly. As for off-road capability, I don't get into the woods as much as I did when I was younger, but I have stressed this truck a few times. It performed great, just as I figured it would.

And the best part about 275's....no cutting to make anything fit. I've had BFG's on almost all of my vehicles going back 30-years or more, they've never let me down and I lived out in the Black Hills of South Dakota for 5-years and the winters are like Siberia at times, but these tires kicked ass. Every time I think about giving Nitto's or any of the other great brands a try I keep thinking back about all my experiences with BFG's and that's what I keep going with.

The TRD Pro wheels have some decent offset (can't remember what it is) but I wanted a little more so I put on Spidertrax spacers, 1.25 inches.

I feel the same way with the look about 285 vs 275. I am thinking about lifting my truck with my stock wheels and having the new rims on hand then driving to America’s tires and trying on 285’s to see if they rub and if they do then have them switch them out to 275. I think the tire shop will do that for me. I’ve heard from some people it depends on the wheel offset on having to cut anything to have no rubbing.

I didn't have any rub at all with this setup but last week I had it on a steep incline at full lock and I heard a slight rub. I put it in park, shut the truck off, and got out to see where it was hitting. It was just barely touching the liner in the driver's side wheel well so I marked it with a knife and when I got home I removed the screw that holds the black plastic in place at the outer edge on the front of the driver-side wheel well and pushed the plastic in just a little bit then used the screw to hold it in its adjusted spot.

Took the truck back to the spot with the incline (its actually my work, we have a ramp for dumping stuff) and played around with it to see if that did the trick and it did. It was a very minor rub but my OCD went ballistic and I had to fix it.

I was expecting the wheels to touch somewhere when I put the spacers on but I knew it wasn't going to be anything drastic. It was somewhat obvious just by looking at where the tires were in relation to the wheel well and then imagining them sticking out an inch. I figured it would just barely touch or just squeak by and not touch at all.
