Missed the labor day sale, but I'm interested in a group buy

Looking to get one set and the mounting panel.

 

I bought some a couple of weeks ago. I bought the unpainted ones for 94.00. In the past I always bought the black ones, they are powder coated I believe. About a month ago I had a water leak in my truck and water wicked up the carpet and got the jackers wet. They probably got a wet several times before I noticed the leak and got it corrected. What surprised me though was how quickly corrosion attacked these, it went right through the powder coating and I noticed the bubbling appearance. I sanded all the black coating off and took these things to work where I treated them to alodine soak.

I followed the alodine with just a top coat of rustoleum flat black. I’ll keep an eye on these now. It’s a good product don’t get me wrong I’ve bought 3 sets and can say it does make the seat more comfortable every day not just long drives. They look like they belong on the truck not some halfassed washer setup.

looking at it again I see rust on the seat attach point, this means I might be going back in to remove that rust and repaint the steel part. If that wasn’t enough anytime you join two pieces of different types of metal you can get dissimilar metal corrosion especially if you get that area wet. Not the fault of the parts just science at work.

Disclosure here, so I’ve already bought these three times but I’m interested in a group buy to do the passenger side for my wife. Even though she’s a shorty at 5.3 it might make that side better as well

 

interesting, wonder if there might be a nylon washer that might work to space and prevent any galvanic corrosion
