    Hey y’all!

I’m planning on going with Falken Wildpeak 275/70/17 tires and 17x9 wheels - they’ve got a -12 offset.

Would I rub with this set up? I don’t wanna do a lift for a while.

    You will rub a lot.

Get ready for cab mount chop, pinch weld, plastic trimming. You would have to do these whether you have a lift or not.

The -12 offset is really what will really cause the rub. The bigger tires will contribute a little bit but it's mainly the offset.

I currently have 16s, but I feel like they just look too small. but I do like the meatier look of the tires.

my problem is that all of the wheels I like are -12 offset.

+00 offset would work, correct...? I do like some “poke” so maybe run 1.25” spacers?

    Recommendations are highly encouraged!

You could do a 16x8 -12 wrapped with 265/75r16s or 17s wrapped in 265/70r17 and not rub minus mud flaps if you had them. *shrug*

EDIT: This is without a lift by the way.

You may have a little rub but don’t quote me on that as I went straight to 295 with -25 offset. Maybe some minor plastic trimming or reshaping.

You’ll need 17x8 wheels if you want 275/70r17 tires.

17x8 0 offset will have more poke, probably just a little bit outside the wheel well. It’s a wider wheel with more aggressive offset than stock with a wider tire than stock.

Oh, and adding spacers is the same as adding offset. Result is the same.

It'll rub with 275s. You really need to bump down to 265/70r17s to avoid rubbing on stock setup and that's an inch bigger, so you'll get some more "meat" as you are desiring.

For a work truck 17 would cause cargo to bounce too much

I'm guessing is the theory here is more rim = less tire which isn't necessarily true. If overall wheel sizes are the same...say 265/75/16 vs 265/70/17 I doubt the passengers would notice a difference in ride quality, let alone the cargo.

From what I gathered. You can get away with 285/70/17 on 17x8.5 -10 no lift if you have CMC, reshape fender liner a tiny bit and caster set at 3.5... you'll just rub a little bit at full lock on pavement.

Completely stock, 265/70/17 seems to be the biggest tire you can run
