Looking for a 12VDC+ Source for my Powered Sub

Hi All!

I installed a Boss subwoofer and cheated on the power in the fuse box cuz I wasn't sure how to get the power lead through the firewall without a drill. Looking for ideas on this or where under the dash I can tap if possible. I thought about the cig lighter, but I want to make sure it can handle the amp load.

Getting through the firewall is a piece of cake.
There is a black rubber pass through directly behind the battery. It will come out up under the driver dash.

if you don't want to go thru the rubber in the pic, there is a grommit behind the brake booter that you can use

 

Dood- Do not fool around with power. Take the time to do it right. It's not a HUGH amount of current-but loading up circuits up in ways like that is asking for a melted wire or a problematic fuse.

Both other posters gave you options- Good luck running the wire however you decide.

 

Thanks. I spent an hour hunting around and totally missed the post about power. But I can now swap out heads and speakers with my eyes closed!

heh... I've had many years of practice at fooling around, and earned the scars proudly as there was no Internet then. No worries, I have a leg up on most when it comes to this. The boot had my attention, but was reluctant to cut - truck's not even a year old! Seeing how Mr Marv likes it, I like now it. lol! Thanks for the thoughts.
