    Are you running a cat?

Wouldn’t it be better to have the duals coming out of a single in dual out muffler Tho

I’m using Borla ProXS, vibrant ultra quiet res and 2.25” all the way. It’s not bad really.

Sounds better than stock muffler IMO. And I’m an exhaust hater. There’s a few people in my neighborhood that I don’t know but the fact they run a straight pipe jeep and have their Chevy “clap” is all I need to know about them. Obnoxious with zero self awareness. Nobody thinks you’re cool when they can hear your shitty as fuck exhaust inside their home. End rant.

no cat. 3" turbo back with magnaflow 4" race muffler. splits into dual 2.5 pipes after the axle. this was kind of a spur of the moment thing and didnt cost me anything. seems like the only time i get any rasp is when quickly letting off the gas

no dynos anywhere near i live. i daily it on 8-9psi but i can switch to 12psi. ive ran it 14psi when i first went turbo which was ridiculous spinning tires up to highway speed but the trans was not a fan of that.

Anyone have any insight in to Atlas leaf springs?

Tried to contact Deaver a couple times last week, no response.

I've heard rumors that Alcan is teetering on bankruptcy, so I don't really want to mess with them.

FWIW I got my Alcans in February of this year (back when I also heard they were putting the biz up for sale, to be fair though I haven't seen any confirmation of it), and I've been 110% happy with them. One of the best mod decisions I've made for my truck.

Did you do a custom set up? What specs did you give? How long did they take?

The appeal of Deaver (and maybe Atlas) are they are in CA. Leafs are heavy, maybe I can cut shipping cost by picking them up.

What I'm looking for is a +3 inch lift with +700-800 pound load, and full military wrap.

I recall a post not too long ago that the business is doing fine, the owner is just ready to retire so it’s up for sale.

I basically inquired with them about springs for my truck and they sent me a questionnaire to fill out, how I use the truck, what weight I carry around daily vs max weight on a trip, how much lift I wanted, etc. I ended up going with (edit - 350#) over stock springs, which I know is quite a bit less than what some on here have ordered but I since I daily my truck I didn't want a really stiff ride with no weight in the back. It's got a noticeable rake unloaded (which I like personally), and fully loaded up it sits level. But I don't carry quite as much weight as some do, I think you would definitely want to go with more weight over stock than I did.

I've been through quite a few leaf springs setups the last 4 years - started with a 3 leaf AAL, went to a standard Dakar pack, Dakar + AAL and then went to All Pro Expos. Even the Expos sagged badly when I loaded up and made a lot of noise. Finally decided to drop the $ on Alcans and they're the best I've had by far. Absolutely quiet, no noise from the bushings leafs (yet, anyway). And they ride great loaded/unloaded...not too stiff and they don't sag something fierce.

I think I ordered mine in January and got them end of Feb..possibly early March. I would have to go back and check. Took about 8 weeks I think, but this was right before Covid too so that may have changed things a bit now.

After you fill out the questionnaire, Bill will shoot you an email telling you what he recommends and you go from there

I went and weighed my truck empty, gave Alcan that number. Then told them I wanted 3.5” lift and +600 lbs of weight. They have performed great for me and it’s been a little over a year I think. You can do the same through deaver as well, it will be a little more expensive

I just went and looked over my emails with Alcan, I ended up adding another 100# after my original request for 250# over stock. So I ended up with 350#/over.

For reference on a normal trip I have a 2 man RTT, couple tote containers of food and camping supplies, a big tote full of tools against the cab and 2 jerry cans. Miscellaneous stuff like chairs, axe, shovel, firewood, etc. And I have a swing out tailgate (not bumper). Truck sits level when all this is in it, daily with nothing over the back it's got almost a 2" rake.

I went with the AllPro Expos a few months ago. For daily, I love them. They ride nice, and the truck sits just the way I want it to.

But I run with a lot more weight, daily, than most.

    20200928_122843.jpg

It sits the way I want. But when we added weight for this last trip, (water/gas/equipment) it just sagged too much, and felt squishy in the ass end.

And my weight in the front (tube bumper, winch, dual batteries under hood, and 1/4 inch skid plates) with 5100s + 620 pound coils, and no sway bar, made the front a little swervy too... been waiting 13 weeks for my Fox's and 700 pound coils.

The plan is to try and shed some weight in the back. I'm going to rebuild the tent rack in 14 guage instead of the 11 guage it's built in now. That saves 1 pound for every foot (when you add up all the feet, that's a 40-50 pound savings) I'll go through the tools and cull out duplicates and triplicates. We've already started looking at some lighter camping stuff (single burner instead of dual burner, coffee press instead of the coleman coffee maker, run LEDs under the rack to eliminate lanterns etc) for the long expeditions that are on the move daily.

But I just think the AllPros don't have enough to do what I want them to do.

I don't know what it was about my Expos but they wouldn't even hold half the weight you have in that pic without sagging. Maybe something to do with an inconsistency in their process, I don't know. But they also made a annoyingly loud pop from the front main eye bushing that I could never figure out, kept retorquing that bolt and replaced those bushings twice and never solved it. Finally went away with the Alcans so I assume it was something with the Expos themselves. I was just not that impressed with their quality tbh.

Anyway, for what a custom set costs it hurts the wallet but solved every issue I'd had with leaf springs up to then.
