Yeah. It was good seeing that one go away. Now with just a catch pan, there is less mess because the top on the old one was shallow.

I have 4 5 gallon jugs that used to hold cutting fluid. They are nice wide mouth translucent HDPE and easy to carry/pour. Up to now all my oil got dumped into those and once a year or so I would dump them.

    I just ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SR7TC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I can to top-side oil changes on my VW and this one got semi-decent reviews. If it sucks (or rather doesn't suck) I'll return it. What I liked about it was that you can reverse the flow and use it to pump the oil in the container out. Much less messy than trying to lift 5 gallons of oil to chest height and dump it in a barrel.

If that doesn't work out, I may splurge and just by a Shurflo pump with Viton components.

Newbie question, but will this ADM mod work with 2nd gen 5 speed transmissions? Is there an accumulator on these models? Thanks!

I do not know if the 2nd Gen 5MT had an accumulator. The 3rd Gen 5MT did not.

The best thing to do is crawl under and take a look or check out the Parts section at toyota.com for your VIN.

    SR could be had with a 5spd M/T (4x4) for 2016 and 2017.

Dealers were extremely stingy about ordering them because all dealerships are criminals and hate people.

20201004_165157.jpg Just did this mod at 15k miles. Way better now! Thanks for the info. Also I have an extra 12" line already bent if anyone on here wants it. I bought 2 just in case I messed one up. 20201004_001019.jpg
You'll just need the fitting. Free in las vegas. Lmk.

The BLU-9C? I would be happy to cover shipping expenses if you’re willing to send it my way.

Yes. That coupler is available at most autoparts stores.

Sorry. I am not @Konagrn . I just jumped in to answer the coupler question.

Yes. The line is $4.29 at autozone. I would ship but are you sure? A flat rate usps envelope is like $7.50.

I tried climbing through the entire thread but I wasn't able to find a step by step solution for Dremel mod.
Is the walkthrough in the PDF attachment in the main post relevant for Dremel mod?
I've copied the PDF content down below and bolded the part I think is what's happening, and struck through the ones I deem not related. Is this as close as possible to a step by step solution for Dremel method?

    Step 1: remove.
Step 2: make it look like this
    Step 3: replace
    Step 4: bleed clutch

TLDR: Your edits look good for dremel method specific instructions. If you want to be super specific I think you don’t need all the wrenches for this approach. Just wrenches to remove exhaust bracket bolts, accumulator bolts and the inlet and outlet flanges. I think the 1/2” wrench is only needed if using a coupler.

also there are several options for clutch bleed so the instructions could maybe be built in two stages, first is delete accumulator and second is bleed clutch with multiple options for each stage and you can pick your favorite from either.

Yes. What @daveeasa said. Just hit it with the dremel and slap it back on.
