3" lift. $10K in TRD options. Richie's semi-hidden bumper, and soon his Elka suspension
I did the same thing to make room for my dog. Then I bought a 2019 DCLB Taco for the dog

So I am also one of those chumps who go suckered into the dealership undercoating, which from what I'm reading seems to actually make things worse.

Seems like people think that Fluid Film or Corrosion Free is the way to go. Does it make sense to just have someone apply that right over the dealership undercoating? In Ottawa it seems like Canadian Tire is the only place that will apply Corrosion Free. Anyone have experience with Canadian Tire applying Corrosion Free? Wondering if they'd do a good job.

I would like to know as well. I currently have an appointment with Krown in Aurora, and I'm not exactly keen about Crappy Tire touching my truck.

crown, rust check or even canadien tire works. Biggest thing is you don’t want a wax, but an oil. The waxier stuff can seal in moisture.

get it sprayed yearly, wash it often and keep it sprayed. I do fluid film because I’m cheap. Can do 2-4 vehicles for $90.

Could always get a tarp and one of these...

It has a 90 deg and a long tube 360 deg nozzles for it.
I have one and the 90 deg attachment is great, gets into all the tiny holes in the underside and body.

    https://www.amazon.ca/Professional-...36&sprefix=undercoating+spray+,aps,176&sr=8-2

a much more expensive version, is one of these

    https://www.amazon.ca/Lemmer-RP-460...36&sprefix=undercoating+spray+,aps,176&sr=8-7

Then get your favourite stuff by the gallon and know that it was done right.

I got mine through princess auto. Cheap and it works. May upgrade. For the tiny holes I just buy the spray cans of fluid film.

Not even 500kms on it yet. Met some guys hunting in a F150 on a narrow part of the trail who were nice enough to drive fully off the trail so I didn't have to scratch my taco :woot:

They also informed me I was on private property...oops20201003_195245.jpg

So much crown land around us, how did you end up on private? My guess is to lazy to go that extra 5 ~7 mins outside of town :p

Take it out on VMUTS yet?

Yep this is what I did. Once I realized how bad the dealership undercoating was. I simply have put the Corrosion Free over top of it.

Has worked out well so far.

I would never allow cnd tire to touch my truck. My undercoating is apply by a private shop who has actual tech's.

Not 14 year old kids who pretend to do things, then just fuck everything up.
No joking at all, I watched them not tighten the lug nuts on some poor old ladies ride after changing her tires. Wheel fell off before she even got out of the parking lot.

In 2016, I took an Icon 2.5" coilover to my neighborhood CT to swap the spring. The tech claimed to know coilovers. 5 minutes later he came back telling me the endcap is seized - he tried to unscrew the endcap thinking it was a typical strut mount. Lucky for him it was seized. 300 psi of nitrogen would've been harmful.

Lol yep I did, just as I was going through the intersection I was doing a double take and realized I know that truck. Then you started waving.

Lol wave started as I was leaving the intersection.

Wife is like: who are you waving to?
Me: The guy in the tocaoma on the Off ramp
Wife: All you Tacoma guys wave to each other?
Me: No, only when we know the person
Wife: but trucks all look the same!
Me: Not when they have a winch out front, back racks and a lightbar on them, That not be no factory truck.
Wife: Men and their trucks.. hrrrmph

Was on my way to the reserve to get some more smokes, figure I better stock up in case the reserve gets closed down again. $18 a carton from the reserve or $130 a carton from the regular store... reserve smokes it is.
