My first car in 2010 was a 2003 Civic Ex. I loved that car, it was a manual with a moon-roof. I purchased it without knowing how to drive stick and my friend had to teach me in a parking lot the same day. I had it for 4 years before parting ways. Next I got a 2014 Civic Lx in 2015, and I hated everything about it. I hated the way it looked outside AND inside, hated that it didn't have a moon-roof. I was in a pinch and needed a car asap. The only thing I didn't hate was that it was paid off. I had the second civic for 5 years. I got into mountain biking and realized I needed more space (because a bike rack wouldn't work ). After looking at a Wrangler (basically a off road civic in terms of internal/external space) and a 4runner (larger outback) I decided on a truck. Realizing a full size was too much truck for my purposes (and I'd only go with diesel), I settled on midsize...and well Tacoma's are the only option there.

The trade in - 2014 Honda Civic Lx
Going to have to swap covered parking spots for the truck. The golf course sprinkler shoots water from beyond the walkway over the fence and covers the side of my car with hard water. Horrible water spots

Got my Huskey X-act Liners in on 8/2 along with the Vehicle OCD Glove Box Organizer.

The mats are very nice, they should hold up well. Wish they were a little higher right next to the gas peddle, but it should be fine.

Got the AVS Low Profile Black Rain Guards in on 10/7. I opened them up and they were all scratched and gouged up (surprise!). Immediately dropped them off at the UPS store and headed over the the local Toyota dealer and grabbed the weather tech version for $98 + tax. Took 10 minutes to install

Having a little issue with the front passenger window not wanting to close automatically, hopefully in the next few days that resolves itself.

Owning a tacoma and coming here takes the "possible" out of the equation.
Tacomaworld + truck = money pit.

Definitely a money pit right now... I think once I get the bed mat, tailgate lock, tint, and door stills in I'm done until the Meso things go back in stock. After those 3 get ordered I'm just going to drive it before anything else

Got the "TACOMA" inserts on today. Left them outside in the sun for a little while to warm up (90 out), cleaned up the lettering area with some 70% rubbing alcohol and they went on without any trouble.

I thought about it. But I specifically wanted leather seats to enjoy them, not cover them up like people do with plastic on couches. I usually park in the shade and have a covered spot where I live. I'll use a good leather conditioner and sunshade for the windshield

Dropped in the bed mat today, thinking about securing it using one/two of the drainage holes. It wont stop a committed theif, but it will stop one who is looking to just lift it and place in their tacoma.

Got my windows tinted at XPEL I decided to go 35% all around since I have got tint ticket in the past (Alabama, $400ish after moving there from out of state). I also tinted the moonroof at 55%

Installed the G-Tek Fab door still protectors installed. Cleaned with goo-gone and an alcohol/water mixture. The fronts looks great! The back door still protectors couldn't get as close to the front of the frame because it curves up and the whole product would not lay flat, also it doesn't get as close to the weather sealing as the fronts.

Popped off the side view mirror covers yesterday to install the new turn signals, pretty easy and quick to do. Not sure what I'm going to do with the old ones...

I also threw on the gasshole insert, the fit is a little tight so I may sand the hole a very little so there is less resistance

For the turn signals, Some people try to sell them for a few bucks. Some keep them for when the trade in or resell truck, swap them out and sell the upgraded ones.

It's been a while since I've updated this build thread, but nothing has really happened. I now have 6385 miles on my tacoma, and I love driving it. My SirusXM trial ended but found out they do military discounts so I kept it around, I almost exclusively listen to this now. I'm not a fan of how QUIET the audio sounds (spotify/youtube/pandora/etc) when streamed over BlueTooth audio, but radio/Sirux sounds fine.

I'm still waiting on MesoCustoms MGM Vent Ring Kit to come in stock, been on wishlist since my order on 10/28/20, emailing almost monthly for updates. They finally said some are on the way so hopefully soon I can de-chrome my dash.

I've also been looking into new tires and wheels recently. I think I'm leaning towards 17" wheel and 32" tire. This is my daily driver, but I also love going to Big Bend and getting on some trails. No rock crawling or deep mudding; just very loose rocky dirt. I'm leaning towards 265/70r17 KO2s load-C, and I like the 4Runner SEMA wheels (PTR20-35110-BK). My dealer quoted me 1070 for 4 wheels and caps, I haven't looked around much to see how competitive that it. I'll keep looking around.

The truck was a money pit when you bought it.

All you are doing is digging a deeper hole. :D

Some folks have stopped using a shovel and moved to a small backhoe since it digs faster.

Local dealers (So Cal) have these wheels for ~$750, and there are free shipping codes (up to $200) floating around. A little bit of savings I think. I too am looking for those wheels, and plan on putting 265/70/17 Yokohama G015s on them. Good luck on the search, and beautiful truck man! I'm working on my cement 21 Sport, have a lot of the same mods. I'm addicted.

Installed the MGM - Interior Chrome Delete Kit, Climate Control Rings, Vent Ring Kit and Black - TRD Start Stop/small, Door Handle Covers, & Steering Wheel Cover yesterday.

I checked my orders and the climate control rings are showing MGM, but they look to be black. Has anyone else had different shades of MGM? Also been waiting on MGM Vent Rings since December 2020, glad they FINALLY got restocked. Crazy how such a popular part was out of stock for months but all these other items got released.
