So I use the noxp preworkout. Any reason that it should make my testosterone high. My dr told me mine was 860 and looked concerned. I am 43 5’11 and 200 lbs. I am not jacked by any means. Last year it was 600. The preworkout is all I have changed.

I also don’t care for running. When I do it, I mentally pretend that there is a Drill Sargent with a baton running behind me. It helps me keep pace. :D

Maybe I need to try some of that!
I normally don’t take supplements anymore besides whey protein powder after workouts.

Well they don't have access to grocery stores and healthcare services if they get injured, unlike people.

So humans have the privilege of running for fun because we are smart.

Nothing seems off on that label.

Everyone's T levels are going to be individual and different. Normal levels are between 200 and 1,000. Typically as a man ages the T level will drop (duh, you don't need high T when you are old and aren't fathering children). High levels can be indicative of low hormone receptivity and aren't always good. Low levels can be indicative of high hormone receptivity and thus aren't all bad.

You do not get the whole picture of a person by looking at a single lab value.

I would only be concerned if you had a CBC come back showing high RBC levels and hemoglobin. The health concern regarding high T levels is that it increases red blood cell production and thus increases blood density. This increases the likelihood of a cardiac event (heart attack, stroke, DVT, etc.). Typically this is not a concern with natural T levels, and is more of an issue with TRT treatments. I'm sure your doc looked at that, and was probably impressed by that natural level at your age.

Do you take a DHEA supplement?

I am trying to get back into it. First day my shoes cut my ankle. Noted. Got training socks.

then thanks to strongman shit, my lower back is kinda tight and it made running the other day literal hell lol.

was going to run every other day but looks like I’m just gonna ease into it slowly instead.

    Wise idea.

It always takes me awhile to ease back in after time off.

On a separate, but related, note, I ordered a pair of Escalantes and they should be delivered today. You better be right!

JK, I saw your comment on the long run issues, and that is not me, so hoping they work well. They will be replacing a pair of Skecher Razer's that only lasted me a bit over a year. The tread wore off and the tread base is wearing away, good shoes while they lasted, but not impressed with the longevity given that I only run 15-20 miles/wk. These were my first zero drop shoes and took some getting used to, but very much like them. First few times I wore zero drops and did some un-weighted knee bends, I kept falling over backwards. :)

LOL The Escalantes are my everyday wear shoes and my gym shoes. They are great for that purpose. I think they are horrible running shoes because they are not ventilated, so they'll get hotter than hell pretty quick and I imagine stink up pretty fast.
    @suaveflooder runs in his though.

I really enjoy the zero drop. The Lone Peaks feel absolutely great on my feet. I still plan on using them in the future, but right now my trail runs are too long to use them without leading to problems.

Had a 6 miler scheduled for this morning, but felt so good I said fuck it and ran 9. Upper body lifts this PM.

I enjoyed my leg day yesterday. I think I'm going to split my 3 full body days into 3 upper body days and 2 leg days and lift 5 days a week.

All this shoe talk has me wigging out about shoes. I got the Saucony Mad River Trail, which gets great reviews and I think will be a good shoe but I keep freaking that I don't know what the weather is going to be like in Dec for the 50M. I'm nervous that I need to have another pair of trail shoes that are Goretex and water proof.
I hope that if we have snow, the race is cold AF, like teens cold. If we have no snow or moisture I'm cool with it being like 40. I'm scared of it like snowing a day or two before and then we have a 30-40 degree day and not only are you effing wet but cold and wet.
I know some of yall live in AK and Canada, maybe you can advise me if I should get waterproof shoes. @strengthordie you may have some insight based on the fact you hunt in the AK wilderness.

I'm thinking of buying a second pair, keeping them in the closet, and then a week or two before the race I'll have a better idea of weather so if I need to take them out for a few runs to break them in I have the time. I can always return them if I don't use them.

Ya'll are so lucky you lift inside. Never have to worry about mother nature for contest prep. Not that I would ever sign up to do a 50M inside on a treadmill to avoid my conundrum LOL.

I wear them out of necessity for my knee, lol, but I have noticed the same as you have with how hot they get. Other than that, they have a ton of cushion and no other complaints other than the heat. Then again, my runs are 1-3 miles. I’m not a crazy man like @PackCon

You know what the difference between a strongman jogging and sprinting is?
