I have wires that I'm going to pass through the firewall and I need a location. Through the factory grommet won't work (not enough room). I was thinking about drilling a hole where the clutch master would be but the e-brake pedal is in that location. I saw this raised area and thought it might be a good spot. Has anybody done this?

I pushed a fish line aka coat hanger next to the e brake cable and pulled it through the factory spot. How many wires you got?

Maybe 10 to 15 wires. I don't have an exact amount yet and I haven't measured the diameter of the bundle yet.

Oh yeah that’s a bit but might still be able to squeeze through if you tape them real well. But drilling a hole sounds like a better plan but I’m sure others on here have better ideas or maybe not lol

    Yep.
See no problem with your plan, drill (carefully) and slap in a grommet.

Other option: run the bundle down the frame and come up through one of the floor grommets

With a cable with that many wires coming up through the floor is much easier if it is practical.

What pray tell are you working on??

Through the floor won't be practical. I have already guesstimated the length of the wires from the switches through the firewall to the relay boxes (driver inner fender).

I'll be installing lights (fog, spot, flood, etc.) and mounting relay boxes under the hood. I have everything planned out except the hole in firewall. I have already been looking at firewall grommets.

I did the multi-connector cable as others are suggesting. I was able to fit an #18/9C bundle through an existing hole just in front of the glove box. I just had to go like one drill bit size larger to get a grommet to fit the wire and hole. Worked for me because I was putting switches in the center console under the radio.

If I get the SPod that means I would have to toss/sell all of my switches/relays/boxes/wiring and related parts. I looked at SPod when I started this and decided to go with individual switches and relays (although it's more work).

Shouldn't be that bad to sell most of that stuff. Or repurpose it for other projects. I got my sPod because I absolutely hate wiring. Now if im adding lights or accessories, I only worry about routing the pos/neg wires to the spod. No relays or switches. And the spod can dim and strobe any light attached too. Oh and it turns off so you can still start the truck later.

    can relays do that?

Run them over to the passenger side where there is a much more easily accessible 3/4” grommet about 2/3 the way up the firewall. Replace that grommet with the daystar firewall boot and drill the hole out bigger and call it a day. That thing would accommodate your wiring and also have room for more if you needed later.

the area of firewall your looking to drill on the driver side is doubled up sheet metal with space in between in some areas and is a bad place to put a grommet imo. Not to mention it’s a tight space for a drill.

and if your 10-15 wire bundle is small enough, you could just run it through the 3/4” grommet up near the brake booster on driver side.

I drilled another hole in the factory grommet and forced all the wires through

Something like this 22 port weatherproof bulkhead connector kit might suit your fancy. Adds expandability in the event that you want to add more to your wire harness. It looks like it behaves as like a plug.
