I'm on option 2 with Bilstein 8100's. My truck came with a shim under the stock pack from the factory. I pulled that shim off an put it under the Icon pack and I haven't had any issues. I never tried it without the shim.

Did you (or anyone reading this post) ever swap the bushings out for poly bushings? My truck is a flexy girl and I want poly bushings in the back for easier articulation and no binding or anything. My icons will be here next Wednesday so I'm wondering if I should order the poly bushings now so they'll arrive in time.

The shackle pivot connecting to the hanger sees a lot more rotation than the leaf eye bushing. Are yours already poly there?

Yep, they’re all poly on my current setup.

I did not because they are welded in and would require torching them to get them out. I did have the energy suspension poly bushings, but returned them. Instead I put zerks in the rear shackles for easy greasing

Hmmmm, ok thanks. I’m going to pop out the ES bushings from my Dakar’s when I do the swap and take some measurements. See if they’ll fit in there if I go through the effort of torching them out.

I believe they do fit because I held them up along side the leaf wrap. If you add zerks to the shackles you can grease easily

Starts with a drill, drill hole, then tap hole, and finally thread in grease fitting.

Drill a hole in the back of the shackle slightly smaller than the zerk and just add self tapping zerks. I also added a Dobinsons zerk bolt for additional lubrication

Is that the self-tapping zerk in the photo? Is the Dobinsons zerk used in the leaf bushings?

On the lower part of the shackle you can see the zerk I added straight on in the center. Above you can see the zerk on the end of the Dobinsons brass colored bolt coming out of the top of the shackle

You can buy new Toyota shackles for 20 bucks from the dealer and they come with no bushing, just grease and put poly bushings in.

Thanks. I already have those with poly bushings. I’m talking the icon leafs themselves, wondering if anyone has swapped those for poly.
