Hello All I am new to the forum. Bought my first Tacoma this year, 2020 OR Cement Grey. So, I was excited to buy things for the truck and someone was selling their StartX because he was trading his truck in and i jumped on. I failed to do my research and found out after installing it the kit was for 2016-2019 and won't work for 2020. Does anyone know how to get it to work? It plugged up and the deviced blinked blue after teaching it. Is it worth my time trying to get it to work or buy a new one meant for 2020?..

There is an additional wire on the passenger side that needs to be cut and connected. It's just for the 2020's.
The harness you have doesn't include that extra wire. I'd just contact StartX and see if they can help.

If it's anything like the n2, you have to splice a wire on the passenger side to get it to work.

Also, just as fyi, you may want to consider the updated StartX 2020 version that was just released recently.
They changed the harness so that it's a single plug at the DCM on the passenger side.
It doesn't require any connections on the driver's side and there's no wire cutting.

EDIT: There is one negative I found on the "updated" version... I use the cell app and there in no UNLOCK function. I contact StartX and they said that function is not available with the new simplified t-harness location. It only has START, STOP, LOCK. I'm okay with that, but I first thought it was defective.

Who does that? LOL...we're slated for a full plug n play release at the end of the month...and we'll throw in the "UNLOCK" feature as a bonus too.

I'd say that's a half assed setup if I were the customer, but it seems it's three-quarters half assed...

Didn't see anything in that thread for push to start 16-19 getting it to work on a 2020. We have his harness and know how to modify it to make it work, but that's assuming he even flashed the firmware for a 2020 as opposed to 16-19. Reach out to him.

On a side note, his stuff is NOT warrantied by the factory because he takes out the Fortin circuit board, and places it into his own housing and also gets his harness made in China. We recently heard stories from both customers and the engineers at the factory that his kits have been causing some serious and odd, never-before-seen issues to their vehicles such as weird things with lighting/head lights, engines not turning off when doors are opened (when they should) and not on purpose...

Factory will turn you away if you call them for support or warranty issues because his serial numbers are logged as "StartX" modules...so it's on him to honor warranty and provide all support because he waived his right for warranty when he asked them to allow him to transfer circuit boards and make his harness in china.

Yep, I agree. If this unit ever craps out I'll be ready for the updated N2 setup...

Aiming for end of month..which is why we've discounted current stock while supplies last because the price will go back up to what it always has been.

N2DesignsInc, Sorry, I have not been on here for awhile so I am not sure what it is that you will be coming out with at the end of the month? Is this a new remote starter without any splices? Also, can I get the phone app with the remote start? How much will this all be for a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport at the end of the month?

Yes, cat is out of the bag...and yes, that's exactly it. Price of one-splice currently has been dropped to $224 while supplies last to make room for our new design at the end of the month which will make the 2020 PTS 100% plug n play. The price of the 100% plug n play will go back to the regular price this kit was (even with one splice) which was $249. The smart module and pricing is on our website, currently $189. Thanks!
