if i were you, rather than risk all the low quality crap coming through Amazon, maybe consider a US outfit that actually tried to develop these products with the community. these guys try hard and are known here:

    just a suggestion.

N2 remote. I’m pretty sure the 2020 N2 also requires a splice...and I think that startx is out of NJ, they just sell their stuff on Amazon, their words.

I don’t think I have the premium and I tried the fob lock trick like robmotive did on YouTube with no success.

The fob is pretty useless. I'd get one with a cell phone app or a secondary remote. Unless of course you park close by everywhere.

Thanks dude! Appreciate the show of love and support. We do take members here and customers in general for that matter VERY seriously. No one will EVER be left unsatisfied, disgruntled or unhappy. If they are, they won't be when we're done with them!

I installed the 2016 - 2019 version of this on my 2018 DCLB OR, and it's been working fine for a year now. I don't remember needing to splice any wires. I'm pretty sure it was just plugged into an existing cord, then you had to follow the directions to program it. Overall, it was very simple. For me, it was a great option, but some people prefer the cellular versions so they can start it from a far distance with their phones. A 50-ish ft distance with my fob is all I need.

2020 is nearly the same except there is one extra step you didn't need to do...but overall, yes, VERY simple. :)

+1 for N2 Designs. I ordered the Start-X module a while back and couldn't get it to work for the life of me and they wouldn't reach back out to me when I emailed them for help. I emailed N2 because it's all the same modules they sell and wondered if he could provide some insight. Within an hour, he replied with his personal cell number and tried to walk me through the install as much as he could before we both realized the module they sent is just super wired a lot more differently (unnecessarily) than N2's and 12.volt's. I ended up sending the Start-X module back and N2 sent me my new module through his business right after we got off the phone and got it a couple days later. I then purchased the add-on GPS module from N2 as well and have had no issues with the kit. I highly recommend N2, even if you won't need the support you're still supporting a smaller business who is always active on our forums trying his best to meet our needs.

I purchased and installed the Start X from Amazon. It's labeled Start-x but it's appears to be made by Fortin. Fortin is a Canadian company that makes electronics components. From my research more than likely all the remote starts you see are Fortin products that are repackaged. https://fortin.ca/en/. Start-X, MPC and others. I did have to cut one wire but it was on the drivers side. It stops the tire pressure monitor light from staying on. That was the only difficult part because you do not have much wire to attach the bypass wire to. But I did it without much trouble. Just nerve wracking cutting a wire on a brand new truck. I also installed the hood safety switch so the remote start won't work if the hood is up.

I have the H-key so you press the lock button three time. The parking lights come on to let you know it's activated and the the engine starts a few seconds later. The distance is no better that you get with the remote for just locking and unlocking the doors. That works fine for me but if you want to start it from across a long parking lot or from inside a building you will need one of the other options for long distance starting. I had a couple of questions and emailed Start-x from their web page and received a response the same day. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

You can download the installation instructions and details from the Fortin web site for more specific information. https://fortin.ca/en/
