Changed out 111,000 mile old SR5 shocks with some 2020 TRD OR takeoffs. Alignment tomorrow morning, but a quick run around the neighborhood and they sure do feel a lot nicer. 30A48428-4F09-4D4A-A274-137F64811D63.jpg4593CE90-7942-4636-B65E-0FDBC3404A60.jpg

Did you document the lift amount?

Sure didn’t. Someone else on here has documented a similar swap, his measurements from wheel center to fender seems to show a 3/4” lift. I wasn’t so much after a lift as better, newer shocks.

So far, Bilstein 4600’s sure do feel different. They soak up that initial hit from a bump without being jarring and settle down quickly. It’ll be interesting feeling them next time I go camping.

    Not my post. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/review-3rd-gen-suspension-on-2nd-gen.542843/

Trimmed my factory mud flaps on my 2010 4x4. They were making awful noises on anything remotely steep... After everything I took 6" off the front mud flaps and 1.75" off the rear to keep the "4x4" with a bit of padding. Fingers crossed that the scraping will be a thing of the past.

Forgot to take before pics :censored:

3 hours, a tooth brush, a lot of microfiber towels and some 1:2 diluted simple green. Betty white has never been this clean under the hood.

Thanks, I’m impressed with how well it cleaned up. Obviously it’s not perfect but it’s a million times better than it was.

I’ve been meaning to do it for mine. Heard steamers are really good for doing this.
