    I poked around a bit but couldn't find anything like I thought I might;

Has anyone made a comprehensive list off all the sockets and wrench sizes, other tools, etc that would be needed for any emergency repairs on the tacomas?

Would like to start carrying a truck tool box, but don't want it to get excessive or cumbersome. No reason to carry a whole socket set if all I need is, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 20, 22 etc. Lol. Trying to get ideas for the perfect emergency tool box thats as minimal as possible but covers all possible repairs.

Hard to imagine the overlap isn't like 90% the same BUT mines a 2nd gen and I looked a bit but no luck but also search terms are objective as hell so that might not of helped.

I am thinking you need the tools for when your miles from the nearest road ?

It never fails you can carry $ 2000.00 worth of tools and never have just what you need .

Thing is when your that far from a Tow Truck you don`t want to skimp on tools .

People always tend to forget a code reader and Multimeter . Best of all The rounded fastner sockets nothing like needing to remove a rounded bolt

3 vehicles so when made the Vehicle boxes I just bought 3 of every thing

Anymore the AAA card works for me.

I keep the following in my truck:

    • Basic socket set (I think mine is this one)
    • Tow strap
    • Traction mats
    • Folding shovel
    • OBD2 reader
    • Duct tape (Gorilla Tape is by far the best I've found)
    • Zip ties (lots of plastic and a few stainless steel)
    • Hammer/hatchet combo tool
    • Flashlight
    • Ratchet straps

All of these have proven to be very useful to me at different points, but I get the most use out of the socket set, duct tape, and zip ties. The socket set is just generally very useful, and the tape and ties, while not elegant in the slightest, are very effective for field repairs. These are the items I would pack an emergency repair box with.

EDIT: Also, a pocket knife is super useful. I don't know what knife laws are like around your area, but look into them for sure.

This is a good list. I'm curious how many people carry a breaker bar. That would be on my go to list, a adjustable length breaker bar. Especially for suspension and drivetrain work. Be tempted to take a torque wrench too but for temporary repairs probably just hand tight and then half turn with the breaker would be good for the time being

Breaker bar or impact and combination wrenches of all those sizes and 2 wrenches of sizes you’ll need for stuff you can’t really get a socket on like uca bolt.

I have a craftsman tool box and undercover swingcase in my bed. I installed sound deadening inside the box and glued cut up carpet material to each drawer. The tool box is strapped to the bed rail cleats with a ratchet strap and is easily removed when needed. The swingcase is great because it's snug along the side of the bed and swings out and can easily come off the hinges and used as a table or chair!

I can take pictures of each individual drawer loaded with tools in the tool box if you'd like. I had pieces of foam around my apartment so i used that to make a silhouette for each tool. I pieced together the tool box and all the tools from facebook marketplace and you can do the same and it won't cost you too much money!

Yes combination and open of all the normal sizes ideally 2 of each size or at minimum and adjustable one. I am also curious whst spare parts most people keep on them... I got extra TREs and one LCA and one UCA and have considered keeping a strut or shock on hand in case one blew as well as fluids and plugs and some coolant hose and patch kits and stuff. There's other stuff I would ideally like to have and would take on a serious off grid, long term trip, but a lot of parts don't seem to be worth the extra weight and volume for less serious endeavors.

Love it, ingenuity at its finest. The sound dampening is a great idea. My grab and go toolbox sounds like a mariachi band by the time I hit the trail lmao

Click on the link below to get the good stuff. I used NOICO SOLUTION 80MIL to deaden my whole truck, literally same quality and butyl material as dynamat, but a fraction of the cost.

I'll take pictures of my tool box now that it's fully built and send them to you, probably when I get home this evening. Just search facebook marketplace and you'll find great tools people want to get rid of for a great price.

You know I for sure should add a torch. I half hazardly use a torch in the garage for so much mechanical work and who knows what other things it might come in good use for out in the woods hahaha. Adding this to the repertoire for sure
