Out here in AZ it does not. Not sure where you live or what your conditions are. Certainly wouldn’t hurt to hammer it nice and flat, spray a sealant over it of some sort. Then paint it

 

Thanks Joe, I've been searching high and low for front bumper/fender/wheel well liner trimming, in addition to CMC photos, and didn't either see or pass over your thread (TRUST ME, I'm all over the 5.29 Mega Thread).

Again your post and pictures are great, as I am want to gather as much detailed pictures and experience of folks with the 3rd gen CMC pinch weld and can take them to my neighbor (runs both a salvage & welding shop, but also has an at home auto service garage) and hopefully do all the trimming, cutting, welding and possibly ECGS clamshell mod all in one effort.

I hope to replace suspension and add LR UCA's, but anticipate going to a full 33/34 tire down the road and want to avoid revisiting chopping/trimming/welding a second time around!

 

I'll talk with my neighbor, as mentioned in my above reply to Joe, but having seen most just pound away with a 4 or so pound hammer until flat, and obviously here on the Eastern seaboard, all of this type work will be painted/sealed for rust prevention.

Now to budget for a December 1st baby and the upgraded suspension/uca/dakar medium leafs!!!!!

 

i took that screw out then filed down the tab until i stopped rubbing and used a heat gun to push the black plastic area

I like this! Truck looks good without the flares. Saw a guy put bolts in the holes, looks pretty cool too. I've been reading all the rubbing threads, I might try this. Next will be CMC. Trying to clear 35's and 1.5in wheel spacers with 4in suspension lift. Just put on some LR UCA's, caster at 4*, still rubbing

 

It’s my favorite look & I’d rock it even on a white truck. No fenders & just leaving the holes exposed Makes for a lot of room in addition to pulling all the liners and a CM relocation & beating the firewall back.

So removing the fenders made some room but you still had to trim and do the CMC? Are you running 35's yet?

 

Yes I’ve been on these 35’s for a while now. Cm relocation was required for me. My aggressive CMC wasn’t enough. Cutting body fenders back is def required with articulation and full bump travel with 35’s unless you have a crazy lift or huge bump stops I guess. Absolutely no regrets. I love this setup

Can I ask what you ended up spending on the CMC and relocate? I might be headed down the same road

 

Are you referring to the shock relocation and CM relocation? I had an initial CMC that was beveled and aggressive. Cost about $150. The shock relocation and CM a relocation altogether was about $450+\-

What did you do with the bottom mounting point closest to the door when you trimmed?
