AT3 XLTs sounds like a perfect choice for you. great for highway and wet weather, tough as nails, and you won't lose as much OR performance as you'd think. I'm on LTs E range, same basic tire design, on my 3rd set.

i reread your post, if weight is a concern the xlt is a 54lb tire. i don't find the E range weights a problem at all myself, actually prefer a little weight. but something to know.

Thanks for the reply! Looks like a quality tire

    https://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-at3-xlt

Still looks like it will weigh less:
STT Pro 285/75/16 per Tire rack is coming in at 60 IBS
Cooper XLT (same size, etc) is coming in at 54 IBS
Idk how accurate these weights are per TireRack

24 IBS less, I wonder if that is noticeable in the slightest?

Made an appointment for Saturday to have these mounted/balanced + alignment, so the important questions is... white wall out or in?

That's what I currently have now too, I think it works really well with the white paint scheme.

Throwing in my support for the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4s. If you care, there is no road noise noticeable at all over stock OEM tires (for a TRD Sport). These type of threads are helpful for making a decision, so I figure I would add my support. Very capable tire for a great price and a great mileage expectation (65k).

Need a tire that has good wet traction, mud traction (not mud bogging but spots can get nasty at times) and some unforeseen obstacles in remote areas (not wheeling) that include some sharp coral rock and some smaller broken and sometimes sharp tree branches buried under brush and grass. I have a commute to get to these locations ranging from 2 to 5 hours. It looks like the Cooper AT3 LT 265/75/16 C load (possibly E) should fit the bill. My options were between Toyo AT3, StMaxx, and the Goodyear UT’s and Duratracs. I was leaning toward the ST MAXX but the wet traction and mud traction doesn’t seem the best . Any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated. Stock truck and want to keep it that way, at least for a couple more years.

I'm not the expert about this, but it seems to me that if you weren't satisfied with the STMaxx in the mud then none of those are gonna be better, because they have less void space in the tread than the STMaxx. how about the STT Pro?

My top choice would be the Pro’s just my commute being 2- 4 hours sometimes in each direction Plus she is my DD. I haven’t had the Maxx’s either. I am not in mud as much but it would be my biggest obstacle. I think I read that you had the Maxx’s how did they work out for you. I know some that swear by them others say they felt like they were driving a boat with them on the Tacoma.

mine were excellent, i really liked them a lot. but they were not that safe in the rain, being i only run E's and it's a light truck. i went through two sets of them before switching to AT3 LT E's, and I'm on my third set of those. i wasn't needing much mud performance so i can't comment on that.
