$64 MEVOTECH TXMS86527 Mevotech TTX Suspension Ball Joint

MEVOTECH TXMS86527 is the product number for the 2nd gens so i am guessing it would be the same for the 3rd gens too but i am not sure. (it doesn't show up as an option when i go through the 3rd gen listings so maybe not idk)

i know a few people who are running these with satisfaction on their 2nd gens.

They look nice for sure. That full boot, with grease zerk.

 

i know right, super pretty haha. If buying a pre-assembled lca wasn't so cost/time effective i'd totally rebuild my OEMs with these.

probably going to stick with TRW, they are made in Taiwan, better than USA products in today’s quality control

 

The TRW's boot looks like it'll get bunched up and break once you torque the steering stop bracket down. Let us know how it goes!

Moog ball joints are used in the $$$$ Dirt King LCAs.

Eric O. at South Main Auto uses Mevotech TTX ball joints whenever they're available.

 

Only pre-assembled aftermarket LCAs for 3rd gens are made by Dorman, and those just came out recently (so new that Dorman has only placeholder photos):

Dorman ball joints are probably bottom of the barrel in quality.

 

We shall see, it’s pretty close with Toyota boots in size, so I don’t see problems there. May even be the same supplier...
plus I got 3/36 warranty with those!


Moogs don’t last based on reviews all around, plus the joint had plenty of play out of the box already and seeks not even threaded....


Mevotech look interesting, just not as good warranty if purchasing via rock auto. Maybe Carid got better warranty?

Read the TW I provided, some bad warranty experience is there. Again, for me getting mevotech is not as easy and quick vs TRW

 

One installer 4-5 years ago had a labor claim rejected. Do Moog or TRW accept labor claims from shops?

Interestingly, Mevotech is headquartered in North York @ Dufferin & 401, so you can raise hell in person if you wanted to

TRW was a Michigan-based American company that got acquired by ZF only 4 years ago. BFGoodrich has been owned by Michelin for more than 30 years, but we don't call Mud-Terrain KM3s French tires
