Yeah, it is very good. I use it on small stock tires and it hauls.
I did mod some shift points for 3-4, 4-5 and some other add-on to deal with upshift after ACIS activation

    Hey, @OVTune .

    I confirmed this!

Check out the Revs and the Engine Stall PIDs. Every time the revs dip below idle-ish, that Stall gauge heads toward positive.

Do you this can help kill the AntiStall function and fix DFCO in 1st gear? If found this in OBD Fusion under the Toyota specific PIDs for the engine.

So asking an ignorant question here because I admit tuning is currently way past my pay grade - what are the differences/changes between a premium 91-93 octane and a regular 87-89 octane tunes? I'm currently running ry18TAC's regular tune, and I do not have enough miles on it to have an informed opinion, but initial impression is very good.

I do want to learn and not just be the lazy bum waiting for someone else to do the heavy lifting.

TC Map 2 only controls full locking and unlocking in D mode
TC Map 4 controls full locking and unlocking in S mode

Been running a test tune over the past couple days I can confirm this at least happens in 5th gear maps and for now I'm gonna assume its all gears. I may have suspected that map 2 controlled both because I was unaware of the slip locking our TC is able to do. But I confirmed this with techstream so for those that want separate TC controls for S mode, looks like its possible to keep it unlocked for hauln balls around town.

Also sounds like someone discovered TC Map 1 is used with cruise control?

EDIT: And when you use D+S or ECT+S, it looks like S mode map supersedes them.

You forgot to smooth the airload tables, your gear lock change for 1-2 is not set correctly either. Then some upshift tables don’t match MD’s, but can’t really match because 04B04 tunes and 04A61 tunes have different axis values. So using @Mooseditty17 values on 04A61 likely not advised. Not trying to be a jerk, I just QC tunes before loading them on anyone’s truck. I check every user created tune before flashing them.

That was my small contribution to your large one. Always annoyed me that engaging cruise at 35 mph (5th) would immediately unlock TC. Did anyone else notice?

It could be used to potentially avoid a downshift e.g. on highway grades/ overpasses... set the TC to unlock before it is set to downshift... it'll give you a few more rpm; thus, a bit more power.

I thought you revised your S2, S3 guidance?
    Something like S2 was D & ECT; S3 was S?

Woops yea thats correct! Quoted an old (bad) comment. This is what I know so far:

-Gear 1 tables are full lock/unlock used in cruise control
-Gear 2 tables are full lock/unlock used in D mode
-Gear 3 tables are full lock/unlock used in ECT mode
-Gear 4 tables are full lock/unlock used in S Mode
-S2 tables are slip lock/unlock used in D mode and ECT
-S3 tables are slip lock/unlock used in S mode

Im sure everyone on 04B04 has noticed 1st gear and 6th gear have less maps than the other gears. Maybe there are a couple Mat is still digging around for? It seems a little odd if they actually have less maps.

Isn't 6th locked out in 4Low? Maybe 5th, too? Could be a clue. I don't remember, only ever needed 4 Low (+Dif lock) for a few moments.

    Thanks for your work!
Knowing what you now know, what would you recommend for optimal torque converter settings in Vftuner? I know everyone has different reasons for their tunes, so I guess my question is what would you change in a base 2.0 tune to get the best overall shifting experience?

Great catch. The last set of tunes I did actually have different axis values than the original 04B04 as well.

Double click on the axis line value, then you should be able to change it.

I thought I was, just installed a new version Tuesday or so. It wasn’t letting me change axis. I’ll try again tonight and download the latest if needed.
