so the short version, they’re terrible in snow and ice lol. Maxxis MT-762’s in 255/85r16.

We’ve gotten our first winter weather of the year this week, temps down to the single digits and first accumulating snow. On dry cold pavement these did fine, but once the white stuff started sticking the truck started sliding. It’s not quite “summer tire in the snow” bad, but it’s worse than the stock hankook HT tires. Earliest I can get swapped to my studded snow tires is Thursday, here’s hoping I don’t find a ditch before then.

I get that but the recommended wheel size says 7.5 on the high end. Wondering if it’s an issue running these tires on 8 inch wheels which is all the @SCSPerformance F5s come in.

2000 miles on my kenda 35x10.5. Love them so far. No chunking, good traction, side wall seems good. Thinking about getting a set of 235/80r17’s for winter to stud them and then run chains when needed with the extra clearance. Anyone try them in snow yet?

    Snow tires back on.

so after taking the MT762s off, I tossed one on the scale. 51 pounds at 8/32nd tread remaining for the 255/85r16.

Joined the skinny club on Friday and tested them out today. Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 in 255/85R16. They are so much quieter than I expected and the off-road performance today was amazing.

Stock off-road wheels and no clearance/rubbing issues.

I'm really interested in a 255/85/16 tire. What do you guys think the closest tire that preforms like my bfg k02's? I really like my current tires, they are quietish and preform well on/off road. Second, I regularly have 1000+ lbs in the back of my truck with stock suspension do you think I'm going to have clearance issues?

    I didn't see these on page 1:

    1) Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 , LT235 /85 R16 120Q E1 RBL (with a 45,000 mile warranty) 52 pounds, $193.00 as of 10/27/20.
    2) Yokohama Geolander M/T G003, LT235 /85 R16 120Q E1 BSW, 51 pounds, $175.00 as of 10/27/20.
    3) Pirelli Scorpion Mud, LT235 /85 R16 108Q C1 RWL, 43 pounds, $164.00 as of 10/27/20.

I am particularly interested in the Pirelli because it is a Load C tire. Doesn't seem like anyone is using them. If I am still looking to go with this tire when it is time to get new rubber, I will provide a full review!

I think the only AT tire in that size is the Mastercraft CXT. Everything else is a MT tire.

You won’t have clearance issues in the back, plenty of room for 33’s. You might have some minor rubbing on the front. You probably should add some sumo springs for the rear just for better weight handling...

Just bought a new set of Patagonia AT 235/80/17 617.00 out the door mounted and balanced. 10 ply. love them. Had 32/11.50/15 on there stuck out too much and was chipping paint off my truck. Travel a lot of gravel.
