In october, I hang halloween lights from my soft topper frame and plug them into the outlet.
In december, I hang christmas lights from my soft topper frame and plug them into the outlet

Thats about all I use my outlet for. I tempted to buy another big bin like the left side has and replace the outlet side with more storage, then just move the plug into the cab where it would be more usefull.

I tried using it with a corded impact driver, but the 3A available was not enough to break a lug free. My driver is about 7A, so getting less than half the total draw was not good enough.

Although 3A is good for charging most things, so I am gathering parts to do the 400W anytime mod and install an outlet in the cab:

I’ve yet to use mine but probably will someday. Everyone I’ve shown it to is impressed by it. If the output was higher it would be more useful to me.

For me it has been very convenient to have. I use mine with my portable refrigerator when traveling and to recharge my portable batteries to run my inverter. I also have a 12v cigarette plug in that runs directly off of the truck battery that I will also run my refrigerator from when parked for camping. One thing to keep in mind is that the outlet is limited to 100 watts when the truck is in gear.

400W anytime mod allows me to run fridge and charge solar generator at same time through extended road trips. Cut my hair and blow dry the shards away at the local park. Run my sad old 120V tire pump. Love it and wouldn't get another truck without one. New F150 has a killer inverter. Awaiting to see if Toyota responds.

Assuming you are asking for more output when parked? It's 400w running, 100w parked IIRC. So the '400w anytime' mod mentioned by @tonered above is what you want to do.

    IIRC it's 400w running and 100w when in park/off?

    Probably will never use it.....
I would rather have the Meso type LED tail light conversion than this useless feature...

Soooo, you're saying 400W. Anytime. Hahaha!

    Why not both? :santa2:

It is a mystery why they dropped the excellent LED tails after the 2nd Gen.

I have a prototype harness from the Total Tail and have finally seen another Taco with a real deal kit. They are just smart and proper compared to the partial stock lighting.

Thanks but I already knew about those mods and likely will be completing both in the future. As far as ideal output goes, anything over 1,000 Watts would be ideal for running small-medium sized power tools or a small Air Compressor. My work truck has a 3,000 Watt Pure Sine Inverter which I use regularly. Maybe I’m just spoiled ;)

Its 400 while parked, and 100 while moving (or in gear)

Here is a video of me pushing the button with the truck not running, but in acc and the button showing 400 watts. When you put it into gear it switches to 100

    I sometimes work backwards. :D

But at least I got the 'anytime' mod part right. No, it's not going to help those wanting more than 400w, but it will help some things.

Of course my poor man's 5 lug doesn't have any OE auxillary power other than an aftermarket inverter.
