Buy a stock one from the dealer, find one at a junk yard, or get twin sticks

How hard is it to modify for twin sticks?

Ideally you should feel comfortable cracking the case open, but you can do it from the top if you are careful. You just need to grind down one of the rails and remove a detent pin.

It’s not really worth the effort TBH. You can just leave the ADD if 2lo is what you’re after

In some cases, but some people are removing the ADD entirely
I have a solid shaft from a GX470, so my front is always engaged

Please tell me more. I'm trying to track down one from a manual fj but I cant find one that's not attached to the diff still

What do you mean, "not attached to the diff"?
The transfer case for the manual transmission fj has a planetary gear in the transfer case so it works 4x4 all the time. You just lock the transfer case when you hit the dirt and it acts like a traditional transfer case at that point.
Added info. The manual fj case allows different speed to the front and rear axles, "like a diff does to left and right wheels" it is all mechanical.

He means he can't find a tube that is not sold as a unit with the front differential (diff) from an FJ. This makes sense as most people would want the full setup, not just the tube.

The tube he wants goes from the front diff to the passenger CV

Ah! Hell I'm still looking for the tube. Not from the factory. Cause after the tube, bearings, seals, etc it way too much. I just manually slide my tube to the engaged side then put a worm clamp the the shaft and put the add back on.

“too much?” You’re talking under $300, that’s less than most people spend on beer in a week.

Still have you buy the bearing and the seal. But I had already spent a lot of money on the conversion, did not want to spend any more. I have not gotten around to do it since.

That post was not talking about the transfer case anymore. That was talking about the diff tube or intermediate shaft part.

you don’t have to do the bearing. You can read my write up here for costs. And you can sell that crappy ADD setup to some poor sap who’s stopped working

Does anyone know how the wiring schematics work (for behind the glovebox) for a 2015? The instructions stop at a 2011 model.
