This may be what you're looking for. I had this TSB done. When you increase the heat, the airflow decreases and whistles/whines.

Is the part number printed somewhere on the blower motor? My truck was built after the production change VIN mentioned in the TSB, but it is chirpin' like a canary.

Does anyone else have a truck built after the change with this problem?

None, factory diff lockers are great.
At first I thought I was starting to go insane and hearing crickets in my truck. Now after reading this thread I know I'm not alone and I can easily get this problem fixed. Thank you TW.

I am on my THIRD blower motor with 32k. All the last 2 motors were TSB motors. Now the noise is back again and am ready for #4. I am getting about 5-6 months out of a motor before the same things happens again. Poor design, shitty part. I really dont want to replace OEM. Any suggestions?

There are a lot of threads on here about how to get rid of the noise. I opted for this as i figured if i bought a new one the noise would come back anyways after a few months. I took the motor apart cleaned out all of the dust and debris and greased up some of the bearings in the motor and mine has been noise free for about two months now.

Here is a good thread to look at on how to take the motor apart

i am just ordering one online and will hope for the best. I will post up when i get it and have it installed. I could easily open things up and regrease/clean but that does not seem to alleviate the problem. I just want it gone and taking it to the stealership will actually cost me more time and aggravation. Plus is will get the same part yet again.

I had the noise one year ago. I took it out of the dash, loosened up a few screws and no issues since.

Here is my post from months back on another forum:

"I didn't look at the attachment but this is an easy fix. It's a definite design flaw because many of us our experiencing it. Just take the blower out of the dash and manipulate the last two screws. I've not had a problem in weeks...or you can deal with the stealership putting in the same crappy blower."

It's worked for me but it takes some manipulating. Good luck.
If you have any questions send me a personal message.

That's because a TSB is not for the consumer. The manufacturer posts TSBs to help techs correct issues that have come up during a model year or years. How it is supposed to work is the consumer brings in their vehicle with a specific complaint. The dealer should scan for any applicable TSBs but this doesn't always happen.

If you're not under warranty, don't blow the money replacing it. Search this site...there's a couple great threads on how to remove the fan and clean/grease it. I did it last month and haven't hird a chirp since! Only took about 30 minutes total and requires some electrical cleaner and lithium grease for the bearing.
