Yes, it broke traction easily on the mild setting. Granted, I also don’t have any weight in the bed and will add weight before the first snow hits and that will help traction a lot.

Was able to download techstream thanks to you guys. I have been here since i first got my 2019. Bought ovtune . I have been sticking with the 87 oct tune. I live in the mountains and did not really like the tunes and the year wait for it. I went back to stock and bought a sprint booster. Truck was still just Okay! Yesterday I flashed the 04B33 tsb went from 04B31 to 04B33. Truck drives much better now. More aggressive on the steep rises up the mountain. Will let it settle in next couple days and get back.

Well I am at 04B33 now. I would like to try the mild to wild but I don’t think the 04B33 has been released yet?

I just Identified my buddies 2017 TRD Sport today to access buying a tune for him.

    Calibration: 8966304B0200
    Calibration file: 89663-04B02
    Part Number: 89661-04K52

I believe there may have been a TSB on this original ECU. Should I have him go to the dealer to get upgraded to 04B04 before buying a tune for him..?

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but firing comments like that are uncalled for and are best left unsaid.

I see the merit to both as well as the downfalls of both, much as I'm sure both you and @24-7 do. I traded in my 2019 AT for a 2021 MT because despite having both Mat's 2.0 tune and an ECU update, it still wasn't where I felt it should be in relation to every other AT vehicle I've driven (except the company Smart Car). Our transit coaches are more predictable in behaviour than my truck was, and it's a CNG-powered city bus!

That said, the MT isn't perfect, either, but it's at least more predictable. I haven't even tuned it yet as Mat's still working on support. I find it much nicer to drive and drive it more so far than I did the AT.

So the MT isn't for you as the AT isn't for me or others. The important thing to be happy with what we have.

I have noticed from others that the MT was better after coming from the AT. They also did a few mods to make it better.

Whats the best way to port tune files from one ECU to another?
I assume I need to have unlocked the source ECU and destination ECU, but what's the best way to know what settings I need to modify?

The tunes we have are loaded on our computers, not transferred from truck to truck. The best way to learn how to change settings is to read the main Vftuner thread (it’s very long) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuner-for-the-3-5l-tacoma.662948/
It took most of us months to learn how to change settings in Vftuner. Lots of hours of reading and learning.
Another choice is to ask someone local to you to tune your truck for a much lower cost (less time, less money).

Correct, I know the tunes are configured initially from VF Tuner. However, if someone released a tune for 04A61 is there a defined process for porting that tune to another ECU ID like 04B31 or something. Or does each ECU behave so differently that you can't really migrate them over?

You just need to go map by map and pay attention to the values and axis as you make adjustments.
    There is not Automatic method.

Gotcha, so if I found a tune for 04A61 that I wanted to port to 04B31 I would need to:
    1. Purchase the credits so I can view the tune for 04A61
    2. Purchase the credits so I can create a tune for 04B31
    3. Determine what the modified values are for the 04A61 tune
    4. Apply those deltas to a 04B31 tune to replicate it
    5. Upload that to ECU
