Yeah, I've read most of the forums over several months now, I take things slowly so not an issue. Doesn't matter to me how long things take, I just don't want to miss a step or not get something I'm supposed to get or that I paid for, or break my new truck, is all. Had it for a year now and still under 3500 miles. :)

Well, to be fair almost half of that has been 4-wheeling up in the mountains. I LOVE DOING THAT! Have never owned a 4x4 before and now I look for forest service roads to take every time I'm out and about. Will be nice to get more even throttle response in each gear, and a few times I really burned the ol' clutch on a particularly rugged trail. Found some stock limitations in bodywork, such as I need much more clearance in the front and rear, and a few more inches of ground clearance would be nice also. Anyway, not to hijack this vftune thread...

My apologies if this has already been covered in a previous post. I have spent a few days searching and can't find anything. On October 31st I received my VF Tuner, performed the initial downloads and sent the System ID back to OVTune. On Nov. 2nd, Matt sent me the Reg Key file which I downloaded and then sent him the ECU Calibration information and a message that I was having issue with the download in Toyota Flash Manager. He then sent me the download link for the 04B03 v.2.0 Final VFT file. There was an issue with the vF Tuner and I uninstalled / re-installed it on my laptop. I believe this was my downfall as I now get a pop up from vF ECU calibration suite that reads, License is broken or does not exist. I "OK" out of that and get a screen asking for a Master key (Serial key), email, and password to register. Nowhere do I find a Master Key in any documentation. On the 5th I asked Matt for assistance, and then again on the 11th. Crickets... nothing but crickets. Can anyone here help?

You should have a master key, it should of been submitted to Matt in a email from you with your ecu ID.

    Edit!!

Matt did not know about this issue. It was between Rafael and I. This does not apply to Matt.

    End Edit!!!!
I am sorry. Vftune is really not good at customer service. Awesome product, but I have gotten to the point, I really regret buying it due to the way customers are treated. Oh well 850 lesson learned.

The Master Key comes automatically based on the order. The REG file comes after submitting the tuning computer's System ID. The Tune Pack come when you decide what ECU ID you want, since you can only choose one and a lot of folks will flash the TSB tune with the OVT / Tactrix adapter.

All of these will come to the email address that your ordered with and are likely to end up in the Spam folder. OVT is working on that.

Hey, Steve. I'm sorry to hear your thoughts. Is there anything that I can help with?

Thanks, Tony. I think that helped me determine what the Master Key is but now I get a pop up that reads, Master Key (Email) not recognized. I believe my license was compromised when I uninstalled and reinstalled the everything.

All emails from OVTune have delivered directly to my inbox but I still check in SPAM. I even tried sending a help request through the Support link on the site. If I need to buy another component to make all this work, I will. They just need to guide me to the next step based on the error made on my part. I know... patience.

    You're welcome!

The MK not recognized was a server side problem, I believe. Your key is portable between machines and doesn't change. I think you can have only one active machine at a time though? Sorry, I'm a bit fuzzy there. I think the main stuff was that the key should appear as it does in the email with dashes and such. Copy-n-paste is best. The username and password has to be the same as you picked on the old machine and no spaces in the username.

It depends what you want to do. If you want to use vF, you just need a vF Master Key license and REG file with a Tactrix adapter. If you want the 2.0 Tunes, you also need the Tune Pack with the request for ECU ID that you want.

If you don't hear something soon, post up in the main vF thread with your order number.

Can you clarify please on how we are treating our customers that is so terrible? So that we can try to fix it.

Everything the customer needs and orders is provided to them in a timely manner. But we do not always respond to or answer every question the customer wants or thinks they should have answered. We also don't answer things that are not even related to our product, or about specifically how to tune or do certain things, this is for legal / liability reasons.

Why do people who have something negative to say always inflate what they paid? Our product has never been 850 dollars.

Make sure you are using the same user name and password you originally made the first time you registered.
Also we are doing some server updates at the moment so if it is not working right now please try again a little later today.

Thank you, and I really didn't intend to start anything negative here. I am a pure novice with regard to these matters but chose to dive in anyhow to get the results everyone speaks so highly of.
I will try again later today and report results through the email thread already running with smithtc58@gmail.

    Thanks again,
    Tom

No worries Tom, I will make sure to get your info to you today with your master key details. We recently updated our auto email so it won' be going to spam for folks.
Do not worry about anything negative / unhappy folks on this forum. Everyone has their own opinion. Many times when we don't answer a customer is is not from lack of customer service or treating our customers bad, sometimes it is what they ask is something unrelated, or something we can't or choose not to answer for liability reasons.

If someone messages us and says " hey can you show me how to set my top speed limiter to 200 MPH" or "What gears or intake do you recommend?" These types of things don't get answered.
Then people will turn around and say "oh their customer service is crap."

Our job is to provide calibrations and calibration software / tools. Not the be-all entity for anything tacoma. Many automotive aftermarket companies have a similar approach.

    Each persons experience is unique.

All I want is to get a little more horsepower, smooth out the transmission, and have it hold a gear on highway mountain grades. I'll get my high speed adrenalin fix on two wheels without asking for anyone's guidance!

    Look forward to your correspondence.

I understand your position on this but Maybe it would be better to reply to these questions with a boiler plate answer such as " Your question has been reviewed but is not something in the scope of what we , as a business and product can ….. . " this may be a better way of dealing with ?'s rather than a total non response ? People tend to get annoyed or confused when completely ignored .

I have bought 3 ecu ID, the tune pack, the tactrix, and the vf tune. That adds up to 850.
I have written over and over. You say what ever you want. I can post the emails if you like. I am to the point I regret making this thread, buying your product, and trying to help others buy your product. The customer service stinks. Take it for what it is. Do you think I just randomly got to this point? Do you think all of the people who say the customer service stinks are lying? Maybe just maybe the customer service stinks and you could do something about it?

let me clarify, we do give boiler plate answers "sorry we cannot help you with this, this is outside the scope of what we do, etc" but we don't answer their question with what they want.

Help us understand what problem you are having and we might be able to better assist you.

No I never said everyone who says our customer service stinks is lying. But I think we have different definitions of customer service than what some customers expect.

    What we offer is this:
    Calibrations (pre made tune files)
    Calibration software
    Flashing hardware.

And we provide support for these things. If you have a specific problem with the software, calibration files, issues with the hardware, etc, this is something we can and do look into and fix.

We do not provide any assistance with:
    Helping people learn to tune
Helping people understand EFI / Tables / tuning
    Helping people make tune files
or anything in the scope of creating, editing, or tuning a vehicle. We will provide general knowledge where we can but providing individual assistance with tuning is not something we do.

if you have an issue with the things we have oultined in bold please let us know right away so we can get it sorted out.
