I've got an 09 Tundra. Still has original battery. Although its getting weak and should probably be replaced. My Taco is 06 and is on its second battery. Got about 10 years out of the first one.

Where I live (extreme heat) 3 years is considered normal. My 09 is on it's 4th battery.
So yes, it depends on where one lives, for battery life.

Weird, my '14 OEM battery lasted about this long. Had it replaced under warranty and the replacement lasted maybe a good 3 years. Currently just running a AAA replacement battery and going strong.

2015 battery failed at ~38 months. Replaced with a batteries plus x2 and have not had any issues. Had similar lifespan out of the factory battery in my FJ Cruiser.

Looks like I spoke too soon. My 31m Northstar AGM died on me on 11/25 which really sucked because I couldn’t get a new battery until today 11/27 due to Thanksgiving. I just went to Costco and picked up an Interstate 27F to hold me over. I purchased this battery on the Northstar Battery group buy 4.0 on May 2017 so it should be covered under warranty. Waiting for response from Northstar. 2014 Tacoma with 62k on battery number 4 :( Arizona just kills these damn batteries!

TruStsrt's last longer than others I've tried. Heat kills any battery, even that jump starter under the seat, keep mine in the garage, put it in whatever vehicle I'm driving that day. If my truck is going to sit for even a few days, I put a maintenance charger on it. I get 7-9 years, depending on how much summer heat it gets.

I replaced my 2015’s OEM battery a few months ago due to being under 12V at rest, disabling my dash cam’s parking mode feature. Installed an X2Power (Northstar) 27F, HKB 0.5V booster, and wide adjustable battery tiedown from @Coupe. Hoping to get at least 7 years out of this battery because they are damn expensive.

My battery is 3 years old this month & I can tell it's getting a bit slow on the cold morning crank it's still doing it's job except not as quick so I'm getting a Deka. The last I heard Johnson controls still owns interstate, optima, duralast, AutoZone, pep boys & I'm shure alot more these days those guys are into marketing not making good batteries.......

Yea, it's heat that kills batteries, but you usually find out it is bad when it gets cold. A weak battery will still start a vehicle in warm weather. In cold weather it takes all the power you can get.

Car batteries, or anything electrical can be hard to predict. I've seen some last 10 years, some 10 months and brand name just doesn't seem to mean much. I got 7 years out of my factory battery. The 2nd one only lasted 10 months and it was the most expensive brand name. I'm at 5 years and counting on the current Walmart battery. Three batteries in 13+ years isn't bad.

We have extreme temperature swings here too. 90's are just an everyday thing in the summer with occasional triple digits. During the winter AM temps in the teens are common, although it doesn't stay below freezing all day very often.

You usually have some warning. The truck may be slow to start, or may even need to be jump started. Once that happens it is time to buy a new one. But sometimes they die with no warning. The 5 year old battery in my F150 did that 11 months ago. It had been working fine then wouldn't do anything. I mean nothing, wouldn't even turn the engine over while trying to jump start it. Had to buy a new battery and install it on the side of a road in the dark. I had actually planned to buy a new one in another month just to be safe. At 5 years I knew it probably didn't have long.

Yes, 7 years was the magic number. Live in the northeast and the cold takes its toll on batteries.
