Guiness Book Record? OEM Battery

Tomorrow the OEM battery in my '05 2.7l will turn 15 years old (see mfg date in photo).

Anyone know if this might qualify as a record for the Guiness folks?

Nice!!!! How many miles on the truck? I got two years out of mine (no joke), though I let it sit A LOT. My commuter, Hyundai Elantra, is 6 years old with 130,000 and the original battery. Yours would seem to be a record easy!

The Panasonic battery that came stock in FJ's and 4Runners is known for longevity but yours is another level! Buy a lotto ticket!

 

I would take care of that corrosion on the terminals still impressive though.

I’m on my 4th OEM battery (all replaced under warranty).....never got 15mo out of them, let alone 15yrs

 

The truck only has 105k on it. It did lots of sitting in some years due to a commute I had that made a smaller car a better idea, gas mileage-wise. Daughter's boyfriend forgot to turn the key all the way off about 8 years ago, ran it down and had to jump once. No heat to speak of up here in Northern NE compared to most places in the US.

Hope I didn't jinx it, no shit. LOL! Been holding off posting, and have always thought even mentioning it on this thread was full of risk (but did a few times, anyway).

I’m on 6 yrs. But will probably replace this fall. I just got a notification from advance auto, they now carry the DiEHard batteries.

 

I'm going to let this battery go until it's done, whenever that may be. Can't give up on it now, although I MIGHT clean off the corrosion from the terminals.

 

Nice. Got almost 10 out of mine. Gave up the ghost sitting nine months waiting on the frame. New one will be five in the fall.

 

Wow, awesome. Mine lasted only 3 years in our 2014 Taco but the OEM Panasonic in our 1993 Yota pickup lasted 8 years.

 

i got one month past the 36 month bumper to bumper outta my original 27F battery haha.

 

How often do you start it and drive it?

 

15 years is crazy. I thought I did good with getting 7 years or so out of my last battery and yours went twice as long. I’m pleased with the Toyota truestart batteries.
