Ok, I found what makes my truck go into limp mode:
    Reference my original post here.

EDIT: "Rough idling" was caused by my AC running in the truck. Limp mode still caused by my edits, but not @Stormpeacock's values. I must have went a little too crazy when tweaking the values.

The suggestions in my spreadsheet are for a different set of maps than the ones you are showing.

I have Matt's same suggestions for those maps with lambda as you have displayed.

How big of a change is it switching over from regular to premium?

You have to start with a Premium or Regular octane 2.0 file, then make the changes. In VFtuner, if you compare a premium and regular file, it’s very hard to find any difference (just a few small differences), so I believe there are changes that only Mat can make.

I would have thought most of the changes would have been in timing advance.. Interesting you didn't see much.

Yea, I wish there was just an easy way to change between the 2. Like it is for gears and tires. Maybe he’ll add it in the future.

I only see one airload control - control airflow map and one airload control - expected airflow map? Am I missing something that's obvious? Lol, thanks for your response. It's not meant to say you're wrong about something by the way, could just be the ECU doesn't like it or I'm a jackass.

Just need to read the map headings and subheadings.
**Accelerator has acceleration Throttle Request to airload.
**Airload control has the maps that have lambdas.
    - this should have the same suggested change from Matt.

We are discussing the same maps then.

Your spreadsheet covers y-axis 650-2400 whereas Matt's covers 800-2000. One would think that wouldn't make much of a difference though (over row higher and lower). I've attempted it twice now and both times have resulted in the same thing.

Ah, okay. That's the clarity I needed. So you are saying that you have rough idling of smoothing 650-2400, but not if you just do the 800-2000?
If that's the case I may need to elicit more feedback and change this info!

I apologize for the confusion. Explaining things online is not my strong suit. Just look at a lot of my past posts and you'll see I edit them because I realize how much sense they don't make, lol.

Rough idling (idle jumps up and down from ~400-1000 RPM) every 10 seconds or so. Only happens while in park, if I'm in drive but idling then there's no anomaly of the sort.

And correct, smoothing the range Matt provides does not yield the same results. I made two tunes today. The first one had your airload tweaks, but after the rough idling returned, I made a second one using Matt's values instead. The only difference between the two tunes were those values and problem gone.

My past tunes also used Matt's values, with the exception of the one I tweaked back in my referenced post. Which well before you made your spreadsheet by the way. Both times that I had rough idle I had only made changes to the airload tables beyond what Matt suggested.

No no, I was making assumptions when you said smooth and was not willing to think it could be those lambda maps.
That's interesting. I've had similar idling at over 500rpms, but I reflash so often I chalk it up to the learning.

I'll check my idle in the am and adjust a tune and stick within that range and see if it makes a change.
Won't be a problem to change that in the spreadsheet or at the very least put a disclaimer. I think the video will be hard to change though o_O

Trying to get dealer to upgrade the ECU. Seems like they have no idea. I have requested to have it upgraded to 04B14 and they have come over with a couple print offs of one upgrade for surging at idle and another for throttle performance and have asked me a few times what I’m looking for. I do not have any faith this is getting done properly...should’ve waited till I got the tatrix cable and saved myself $150 I know they are likely going to charge.

TSBs are free and these are applicable to the longer powertrain warranty.

It doesn't matter what symptom they qualify it under. As for confidence, it is literally hitting one button and following the prompts which are basically, turn the key on, turn the key off.

Also, you have vF then you have a Tactrix already, right?

Yeah... good luck. I had the dealer do one on my AT, after that struggle didn’t bother trying to get them to do it in my MT. Way less time and headache to just do it yourself.

So I don’t need to pay the “diagnostic fee” for 1 hour of service?

I'd walk away and wait on the kit.

It is warranty work. So, you shouldn't be paying anything. If the fix is free, so is the diagnostics, unless you told them otherwise.
