I have a 2012 tacoma trd sport and it has factory heated leather seats. How rare is that? Also is it possible to have a limited trd sport? Or is it one or the other? I uploaded a picture for reference the switches are infront of the shifter.

Those switches look to be aftermarket or port installed heated seats.

On a 2nd gen? No one. Was never an option.

The photo shows aftermarket leather seats and heaters, presumably dealer installed based on your post.

My ‘13 Sport came with factory heated seats, just no leather. As far as I know, I could be wrong, ‘15 Limited had leather and heated seats.

And factory switches would be to the far left / right of the A-Trac and USB AUX ports as far as I know

Was that a Canadian option or on US trucks too?

Either way OP’s stuff is definitely aftermarket.

O ya I forgot to mention I did by this truck in Canada and imported it to the US. It also came with a Bongiovi acoustic dps sound system that was only offered in Canada.

When I was importing it I had to do some talking with toyota of Canada and while I was on the phone with them I gave them them the vin and I remember the rep I was talking to said something along the lines of "o wow thats a nice tacoma, this one has the towing package and heated leather seats, pretty cool" casually while we were talking and the only information she had on the truck was the vin which is why I was thinking it was factory

Also u have I have done a fair bit of vinyl wrapping and plasti dipping on the center console and radio bezel. All of the was that factory silver color when I bought it. While taking the center console out the wiring for the heated seats seems very factory (same white clips and black cover that all the other wires down there had)

Yes there are several companies making aftermarket leather seat covers (they also offer heater options that usually have switches just like yours). Katskinz and clazzio are the two most popular ones. From the looks of it pretty sure your leather isn’t factory.

If you bought the truck new my guess is the dealer installed it. Kinda like when you go into the dealership and they have the lifted Tacoma on aftermarket rims in the showroom. It didn’t come from Toyota that way the dealer bolted all the extras on. If you bought it used it’s anyones guess who installed the leather and heaters.

My 2010 came from the factory with heated " Pleather " seats , but I have been informed that they were installed at the port . With this being said , the parts are all aftermarket

As does my '14 Limited. Also comes with the Softex seats. Synthetic engineered leather, not vinyl.

    Cheers.

Well I stand corrected about the leather. Didn’t know about the Limited.

I guess I missed it because that was the last few models years of the 2nd gen when they came out with a million different trim packages (Limited, Baja, TX pro, TRD Pro, etc.) and I lost track hahaha.
