I just recieved my luminox colormark black out watch in the mail last Friday. It has titrium so it emits radiation in the form of light and should last 25 years which is kind of neat! Cost me around 240 but this is probably the only watch I will ever have as long as I'm alive lol

Valjoux is a watch movement manufacturer who just broke away from ETA, and part of Swatch group. The 7750 is one of the best chrono movements used by a lot of high end manufacturers. Only a few very high end watch makers use they're in house movements. One of them is Rolex, and one of the best chrono movements are made by Zenith who made the first chrono automatic movement called El Primero. The very expensive watches use the Zenith movements, and Rolex used to power
they're chronos with Zenith till a few years back. Any watch with the 7750 movement is consider a very good watch. One of the reasons is the price, the movement alone is $1200.00 depending in how many complications.
Personal I made my self an early Christmas present and I've got a IWC Aquatimer two weeks ago.
    Take care

fwiw, just confirmed it's the Valjoux 7750, Chronometric grade --> 28,800 beat version (like I know what that means...actually, I read about it versus others on the interwebz...seems common [read: reliable?]).

    Anyway, I'm pulling the trigger.:)

    Thanks fellas.

    NamBam, your post sold me.

I've gone through a bunch of watches in years past including a Rolex Sub and a Doxa 750T Pro (shouldn't have sold that...)

Currently I mainly wear a Suunto Observer 90% of the time and once in a while I break out my Omega Speedmaster Moon.

    200706060002_51b4711a1a607e7d17618b8c8bf71545f0cefbe8.jpg

Love the Observer because I can beat it to death, it doesn't look like any other digital watch out there and it's not huge. The Speedy I'll keep forever and it's kind of a stealth watch i.e. those who know watches will know what I'm wearing and you don't get a douche that'll ask, "is that a real Rolex?"

I love my Nixon Scout. I beat the hell out of it everyday at work. I used to have a Esq. Not bad of a watch, just not my style. And like many have said, its all about your personal preference.

    I have no clue.
I am kind of a watch guy. I absolutely love them but can't afford my tastes. I have several Seikos which IMHO are damn fine watches for the price. About a year ago I picked up a Luminox. It has become by far my favorite watch.

This is my daily wear watch. I LOVE this thing.

This is one of my Seikos that is tied for my favorite.

Try looking at www.bluedial.com All of their stuff is genuine, they have awesome prices and even better service. I have ordered a few watches from them. My next purchase will probably be another Luminox.

Yep, I have a cap on my truck. As I've mentioned before, it's for the dogs... and every other mod I've made to the Taco has been purely functional. I'm not a bling kind of guy, generally- my wife bought me a nice gold chain for Christmas that's rarely been out of the case. That being said, on those occasions when I have to wear a suit or a sport coat (rare as well) I have a nice $200 Seiko. Somehow an Expedition on a velcro strap just wouldn't look right.

I don't spend Rolex money, but I do like a good looking watch. Kind of a thing for me. My Grandfather was a clock maker so maybe thats why(I have alot of clocks too). I have a Movado for when I need to dress up, and my every day one I spent $800 on my Seiko. I just like a good watch.

^^^^^^^^^^Yes, this. Only watches I wear with any regularity, which isn't often, are cheap Timex type ones that last forever and no one wants to jack you for. I have a fancy one for once in blue moon dress up times but every time I've ever spent 100.00 on something to wear regularly, it gets broken or lost in the ocean or some other stupid shit so I just buy 20-40.00 timex type things and for some reason that doesn't happen, lol. Keeps on tickin no matter what and no use for thugs at pawn shop = win!

I wore that with the Rolex Sub for a "almost" Bond style i.e. Thunderball. The Nato changes the watch fo sho but I lost my watch tool so the Speedy has the bracelet on which is way scratched up.

You can get some really nice watches for good prices. What you need to do is figure out if you want an automatic, or a battery operated watch. Autos are cool because they are like a little machine on your wrist, but they can be delicate and require $ service. battery operated ones work great, but purists scoff at them. I have a couple of both as I sort of collect watches. I find I wear my Tissot, or ESQ most of the time as I'm wary of scratching up my Omega/ Oris. I also found that if you join a watch forum, like watchuseek, you can get ahold of authorized dealers on the site, and can get amazing prices on watches through the forum. I got almost all of my watches either through my forum, or from dealers on eBay for 30-60% off the retail prices locally...you should check it out.

PS I also agree that having a nice watch makes a guy feel good.

Just another little comment- when I was working as an electrician, metal bracelet watches had a short life span. Besides the actual rough handling, every time I'd get bit, regardless of the voltage, the watch would mysteriously quit working.

I like this one, when my watch dies, I shall copy you. Right now I'm sportin' some kinda timex ironman triathlon shock jobby, got it at LL Bean, it's the 4th watch I've gotten from there, and when they die I bring it in and they give me a new one.

Agree! I own 3 Citizen Eco Perpetual Calendars. The perpetual calendars are awesome. A bit difficult to program, but once you get it done you never have to adjust the date for months with varying numbers of days. The titaniums are wonderfully light. Never had one break or fail on me. Do NOT lose the instructions though! :)
