What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

FYI Headstrong now has their 3 leaf aal back in stock. Better hurry if you've been wanting one. They also have the 1/2" shim to give you 2 full inches of lift if you so desire. Got my order in.

 

Did a little cab mount chop with a good friend TacoTRD. He did the welding, I made the cuts. I tried to lay my first bead and it was terrible. I'm sort of hooked now. The process was fairly easy just have at least 3 fresh cut off wheels per side and a fresh flapper disk. I'm considering making the install video after the new wheels/tires go on. I still have to cut the fenders. I thought it would be a good idea to cut the lower fenders once the wheels are on.

 

Thats a clean CMC. The welds look better than the rest of the frame welds

 

Q: So...does the "follow me" function not work if you have the controller inside the cab? I've been meaning to try it out (older Phantom 3). Just curious as to why you'd have to control & steer at the same time?

 

Dayum! That bumper looks great, what did you use to trim out the plastic that you cut?

 

I don't have that feature on the mini. Honestly this whole thing was just a thought I had. It's only for those low speed shots directly above the truck through the trees. I have someone who could drive the truck while I get the shot if I needed it. I'm going to try it tho.

the chrome delete is a must imo. the interior just looks so much more complete without all the shiny bits

 

Honestly, I'm not sure (I don't think so though). I haven't installed it yet. I still have to prime and paint the bare metal and have been waiting for a warmer day. Supposed to be close to 60 Wednesday, so I think that's when I will try to do it. I know the front part installs to the cross member and there is another bracket for towards the back. I will try to update here once I do it, if not try to check out my build page.

That was my problem when I had the BajaRack on my FJ but it shouldn't be an issue with the Prinsu, you can take off the cross beams and wash/clay/wax when you have to.

It's complete ridiculous overkill. But i lurve it.

 

If you want to mount under the hood make sure your pump is weatherproof. A lot are not and will seize up.

 

You don't even have to remove them. Just loosen them up some and they slide around enough to wash and wax underneath. I do it once every year to to make sure the paint is safe.
