They're not cheap but search around and you can prob find them for $200/tire out the door- that's about what I paid. I got the 265/70R16, wish they had 265/75s. Tireworld quoted me $275 first but they dealed down. Worth every penny. They work much better than advertised too. They're marketed as more security. They should be marketed as the best way to turn your truck into a snow rally machine! White knuckle conditions where everyone else is scared shitless and driving like old ladies are turned into play time. I keep saying there needs to be a lane for superchargers and snow tires. Wolf creek pass has a lane actually. People just have absolutely no idea what these tires give you. You'll read on this forum that BFG A/Ts are the best snow tire (my summer tires)- that's rediculus! Early Xmas present to yourself...I'm telling you.

I've got 4 60lb bags over my rear axle + a layer of snow :) - weight in the back should help everyone, not just 4x2ers, considering our trucks are RWD.

Sounds like you need more tools!

A lot more stuff under/behind the seat... That explains your frequent trips to/from Mexico.

3rd winter with mine. Best set up I can find is 4-50lb bags of sand, turn all the traction control shit off, full tank of gas and your good to go.

Since I am half way between Aspen and Vail I run studded snow tires after thanksgiving and replace them every two years. In deep snow, the studs dont grab better really but with ice undeneath the snow(as it is most often) they are a dream. I can stop on a dime and almost never need to put it in 4 wheel. I do have the added wieght of a leer topper, a set of chains, a funky little temporary winch that attaches to either front or back bumper and a shovel in back. As far as wieght or no wieght my vote is some is needed in snow but tires are everything!!!

    Im getting there......
also from Colorado i use 120lbs of sand bags in the back of my 4x4 just for a little extra traction.....but i drive a lot in deeper snow and also it helps on highways with packed snow when traveling at higher speeds i feel

 anddddd youll in the ditch shortly after that .... awd cars handle much better on the freeway in snow than pickups, 4wd or not.

I don't know how anyone can drive in 2wd in snow without em, if ya stop or go at all.. mine has a hard time getting goin in 2wd and i got decent tires. I'm grabbin a few more to throw in the back later today maybe.

I haven't had my taco too long, had some issues with getting plates, haven't driven it much at all. But woke up early, to a lot of snow drifts. I decided to hit the road and get to work pre-snowplow. Daaamn, was a nice ride to work, impressed with the ease it just crushes through snow drifts and whatnot. Still getting used to the handling, really wish I had a longer drive, even though i took my time and drove out of my way to get here.
