Hey, I'm starting to look for another set of wheels so I can have winter tires on their own wheels, but I don't know anything about them. Are there brands to avoid? Finishes that are crap? I want to spend less than $200 each, but I don't want to buy junk like I did with Tacoma Beast headlights. Just want black or dark gray wheels that won't look like garbage in a year. I don't off road on purpose, just a work truck.

Love my Sema wheels. Still look brand new after 2.5 years.

If I could get of the regret of not having bought them at 40% off, during the 40yr anniversary sale, I'd go buy a set because they are that awesome looking.

LOL, yes Bronze too. He specifically was asking for black or dark grey, hence mentioning those colors.

Very similar to the Rock Warriors I ran here. The wheel is slightly narrower at 7” vs Rock Warriors at 7.5”, but both push a 265 tire right out to the edge of the fender without going past it. Being OEM you can be assured the wheel fitment and backspacing is designed not to rub, unlike aftermarket.

I'd totally trust them not to rub on the 4 runner they are marketed for... Sometimes our Tacoma's are "special"

Those are cool, but I have 16" tires. None of their 16" wheels have that sale price. Damn. By the way, are you the guy who posted that extensive headlight post? That was great info. Thanks for doing that.

Things the OP may want to look at .

Hub centric as well as Lug centric .. How well the wheels balance up when they are road force balanced with the Haweka adapter
    backspacing
Are you going to need wheel spacers which change the geometry of the truck and eat wheel bearings
    Aftermarket lug nutts ?
Coatings that make those wheels look pretty . Does the coating fall off after a winter of salt

The only part of that post that I understood was "winter of salt". So do I have to research all those things before buying, or can a guy just buy some standard 16" wheels if the website says "it will fit your 2020 Tacoma"? I've never just bought wheels before.

If you like a set of rims , ask the guys how they balance up before you purchase .
Tacomas do not like lug centric aftermarket rims . They can be very difficult to balance
Your Tacoma uses a factory rim designed to mount at the hub , not the lug nutts . If I had a choice , I would be looking for a rim that used the hub centric feature over the lug centric design .
Your tires under ideal conditions are suppose to be rotated every 5k
When mounting new tires to your factory rims , a road force balancing machine is suppose to be used according to your owners manual .
The Haweka adapter is the Toyota designed jig to assist with road force balancing lug centric rims . Many shops do not carry this adapter . You leave the tire shop with vibrations or a pack of stick on weights that fall off the first time they get wet .

Edit . A good shop will send Hub centric rings with your second set of rims . Dont be afraid to ask for some rings when you make your purchase . They will know what you are talking about .

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-skinny-on-hub-centric-rings.581261/

These are things I have learned the hard way . I am just passing along some helpfull hints to hopefully save you cash and headaches

Yeah, I do wheels and tires too. :) You might consider swapping up some 17” tires since they are a dedicated winter tire or pick up some inexpensive second hand TRD OR 16” wheels.
