Did you recently rebuild/paint those calipers?....Look to be in great shape - rubber and retaining rings holding on dust boot look new too.

I assume you're the original owner, but did anyone else ever touch your brakes? People and dealers use different bits all the time if they need to.

Also, the factory brake pads don't come with the clips from Toyota. Where'd you buy the pads?

Brakes had never been touched. Pretty sure I bought the ceramic pads from Auto ZoneScreenshot_20201214-190707.jpg

    Mine look like this

I’ve had single from the factory on my 2000 and 2011 Tacoma’s. Our 2005 4runner has a single also. Never seen one with 2 cotter pins on it.

I replaced both calipers in a dark garage, which is why the pad was backwards.
I've never seen brake pads designed like that, they are supposed to be idiot proof!

Nothing is idiot proof. They just keep making better idiots all the time.

    My ignore list is empty.

Where did I get "all butthurt"?

    Give me some linkage...

Never mind I searched you out... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-did-you-pay-for-duplicate-keys.537711/page-3#post-17354031

You were the one that bought that cheap ass aftermarket key with a battery in it.

I said it was the best place for you, not that I had a list.

That is how much of an impact you had on me.
    I forgot you even existed.
That being said I see you remembered me.

OP in the last month I too put new calipers on my 2015 DBSB. I had the old single pin on the truck and the new calipers came with the 2 little cotter pins. If that helps. No issues here. I even did the StopTech slotted rotors and TRD Brakes. Which are zero fun to break in!!! 60 to 20 mph brake checks 9 times in a row!! Its hard to find roads that long. Needless to say the 4 lane highway I was doing it on people where passing me thinking I was crazy. o_O
