VF tuning collaboration and BS

Basic install question here: I didnt realize that the stock tune had to be sent to me (or where can I get it?) I'm all registered and installed programwise I got my cable and whatnot today and i just sent off my ecu ID 04B04. am i stuck waiting on my 2.0 files to be sent to me or can i download it somewhere? Thanks!

 

Look in program files/ for your stock files.
You have to request the tune pack via Zendesk for your ecu

 

Yeah I sent that out to zen desk I just wasn’t sure if I could skip that step since I’m already registered. Like say could I download mild 2 wild and just flash with that?

I saw the files on page one and downloaded the M2W just to try to open in in VF tuner and it prompted me to spend 5 credits. I’m cool with that but I just want to make sure I’m getting the tune for stock wheel size and 87 octane. The file names are a bit confusing... also I’ll throw mooseditty some cash for the hard work

 

The first time you open a file in vf you are prompted to unlock that ecu ID for 4 credits. After that you can open any file with that ID.

 

Is there a thread with a list of files on it?

 

I assume you are 04B04 right?
Once you open any 04B04 file in vf by using 4 credits, you will then be able to open any and all files with that calibration (ECU ID), now and in the future. There is no list or limitation to the 04B04 files you can open and edit.

 

I think I get that, but where are the files located for download? I'm waiting on OVtune to send me my 2.0 files but im chomping at the bit because i'm all registered and have the software.So now i'm good with flashing someone elses custom tune but dont know where to find them. I realize M2W is on page 1 of this thread but I'm not running 33's...

 

@Aktacoma788 You can open the M&W tune in vftuner and adjust the tire size to your truck (its the radius of your tires, if stock set to 15.5) under DriveTrain Controls - Tire Size.

 

The stock files are located in the vf program directory. Until you get your tune pack, you will have to use modified tunes posted here that correspond to your ecu ID. Or open the stock tune and look around.

 

Awesome thanks! I tried to reset my learning values after flashing the tune and it said both were unsuccessful...have you experienced this?

Turn the truck off after flashing a tune, then turn ignition back on (as if you were going to flash another tune). Give it a few seconds as well, had it say "unsuccessful" when I try too quick.

04B04 tunes? The first post of this topic has some. Otherwise you'll need a tune pack or you can edit the stock tune located in the install directory of VF Tuner.
