Quick questions for my planned lift on my extended cab '02. Here's what I'm doing:

5100's all around- fronts set at 2.5" with rear Toytec 2" add AAL

    Should I get a 1" CV drop running the 5100's at 2.5"?

Or would it be better to get an 881 spring and run the front 5100 at 1"? This should definitely need a CV drop right?

With them set at 2.5" it will be a more stiff ride. And since its a 02 and your doing suspension work, might as well replace the springs while your in there for some 881's. And you can do a cv drop kit, but I have seen a 3" lift without it and the cv angles were fine. But you can do it if you would like.

    ^^^^ This is good advice.

I would only add that a diff drop is appropriate as a problem solver. If you have vibs after lifting, check your cv axle boots to make sure the fins on them on not touching. If they are, lowering the diff a little with a kit may be enough to eliminate long term problems.

Alright, the 881 springs lift the front 2" right? So the 5100 on the 15/16" setting will match up good with the 2" AAL?

A lot of people like Toytec, but $170 for 881 springs sounds pretty steep. Maybe that's a fair price?

Here is what I am running

    OME 881’s | Bilstein 5100’s @ 1” (middle setting)| OME Dakar Leafs | Bilstein 5125’s | Differential Drop Kit

    My coils were like $146

I am replacing both CV axle's now, they started leaking out grease. I hope it is just because they are woren out at 123,xxx. $66 each to replace new with life time war.

NO!! You do not want to pair OME 881's with the Bilstein's if you intend to put the shocks on the highest, 2.5" setting. The 881's are too tall and too stiff to be run in that setup, you will risk damaging the shocks.

Bilstein's at zero with the 881's will give you a good 2" lift in the front if that is all you are looking for.

    FYI - for 1st gens the setting on the shocks are 0 - 1" - 2.5"

I decided to go with the 881 and 5100 in the front with the 5100 set at 1". I'm using a 2" rear shackle and 5100 for the rear. I am just waiting on the shocks to get here, and the tracking says today, so I should have it all installed in a day or two and have pics up as soon as it's done!
