What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

What's up Berto. Not sure if you remember me. I picked up some tail lights from you a while back. They're still going strong lol Anyways truck is coming out great man. Love the progress on it.

Hard to tell on my old Samsung lol.

 

This is on my list for the moment it gets warm. As soon as i get a little ice or snow on my truck the body mounts start making a hell of a 'clunk'.

Not really any pros or cons that I’m aware of aside from you get a slight body lift. If the bushing halves are slightly different durometers it could be argued that they may wear out faster or have more roll but this is a truck not a sports car and they are already firmer than stock and poly lasts way longer. (At the expense of increased vibration transfer) I installed them upside down for the slight lift and to match the lift I got with the core support “universal” bushing install as I didn’t use the body mount kit ones. I used the thicker larger one for the core support with all the washers.

All fits and is working well so far.

 

What tails are those?

I appreciate that. I like how they come out to the edge of your cab, looks good. I want them wide enough to be functional but not so wide I look like a helicopter going down the road.

 

what did you use/how did you get lighting in the cubby in-front of the cup holder?

 

probably should have...lol. I just had a driveshaft shop locally cut the front back then add the slip yoke for the transfer case.

 

You need this now. Just bounce the laser sighting off for more effect.

Used these....

drilling the hole for the cubby was a bit of the pain. Had to take a few bolts out to get it angled enough to drill a perpendicular hole.

tapped into the wiring for the shifter lighting so that it comes on and off with parking and headlights. Also allows it to be on the interior dimmer.

only advice I’d give is to draw it out before you do final wiring.

I bought 5 white lights too that I’m going to put on a switch to help give overall interior lighting when needed since the dome lights are pretty weak.

 

Added a little fun to the side of the truck
Put a light bar and roof rack on too but have to get pics when it's out of the garage

I put LEDs in the foot wells, front cup holder, and have a couple that shine through the rear vent (center console) in the back, but I really want light up the front cubby also. I tapped into the same place as you, (shifter light) so they turn on with the lights, and are dimmable.
