What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

If you are going with a AGM for the battery, I would invest in the one with the MPPT charger for a little bit more. Same link just one one right next to it for $100 more. MPPT > PWM ....IMO

YES!!! My fingers are killing me today. If you go this route I would let them sit in the sun for awhile. I still need to finish the passenger seat.

 

Not today, but over the weekend. Changed oil & oil filter. Wanted to change the gear oil on the front diff, rear diff, and transfer case but the drain plug was rusted up on the front diff and decided to spray it all with PB blaster and try again later. Promptly forgot about that 'till now. Hopefully that plug doesn't give me too much trouble. Might consider looking for part numbers just in case my ugga duggas aren't enough.

Anyone looking for another project, I need one more signup to start the second group for bolt on rear shock relocate.

These let you run a 12" king or fox on the rear, all for less than a set of OEM replacement King shocks.

 

I just ordered my 285s in falken wildpeak AT3W. I’m so ready I put a lift on 20,000 miles ago and have been beating these tire up so I could up grade

 

I tweaked the panel a bit more today. Modified the brackets to allow for more clearance and I’m much happier with the finished product. I also finished routing and labeling the wires. Overall I'm very pleased with how this came out. The only thing I'm leery about is if I'll get any leaks where I routed the wires in the cab. Time will tell.

 

Don't know if you're looking to keep that bed rack on all the time, but you could get away with a rocket launcher setup. You could build one with wood & PVC pipe without much difficulty, or fab/buy one of the more aesthetic options:

Also worth noting some can be attached to the hitch as well, so it doesn't have to take up bed space necessarily.

 

Found Procomp uca for $300 and it started. Then I got All-Pro off road exp leaf spring kit with the bilstien shocks. Then I found bilstien 6112 fronts for under $600 off of rockauto.com. Found the timbrens bump stops on Facebook marketplace for $100. I ordered the front dif drop and drive shaft drop but ended up making my own drive shaft spacers.

It took me over a year to get all the parts together. I paid the parts off one at a time. I had my grandma buy it and I would pay her back a little bit at a time until I paid it off and then we ordered the next part/parts. And at tax time my wife asked what else I needed and she ordered the 6112s.

I still dont understand much about solar. I'm not the best with numbers so it's kind of like I'm reading French. So I was wondering what can power with this setup?

 

All this does is keep my battery topped off. If I'm parked for a while with my fridge running, my battery will slowly start to drain. This will allow me to stay parked for longer periods of time.

 

I used to have a similar setup to that before I got the rack, and then I started from scratch again. I might have to look into ways to make it more compatible with the rack/basket on there (as of now the rods take up basket space for gear), or even the hitch idea. Thanks!

 

Did a thing today.

 

That's a great winch. I love mine. I had to run the line underneath my truck and winch myself backwards up a very slick clay hill this past weekend that I accidentally slid off into. It worked flawlessly and quickly.

 

Well since I'm semi new to Tacoma's and I'm from Missouri. ( The show me state) (I'm not really from there) but I always had a doubt about the rear diff breather mod until my Hurricane Creek trip last Tuesday with several TW Peeps! Dunked my Pumpkin in the first creek crossing. Changed my Rear Diff Fluid today and this is what it looked like. Keep in mind this gear oil only had 6k on it! It looked like coffee! There's no doubt it sucked in a ton of water! I now have the parts to do the mod. Just couldn't get them to the house before the trip! Here you go!

 

For some reason this just soothes my soul! NICE!
