The only shipper I have had a problem with was on trac that Amazon used for a while.

I kept getting broken deliveries then used my surveillance cameras to see what was going on.

I was perusing the forum and came across a thread where someone is asking about replacing his radio with something similar to a screen in a Tesla. Got me thinking...
Back in the day before automobiles, you got around by riding a horse.
It had a mind of its own.
If it was trained, it would come if you whistle.
Man invented automobiles to get away from a horse.
Automobile technology evolves to give the car “intelligence” to self drive
Man adds technology to have the car come to you when you (electronically) whistle.

Then they give Fed Ex a bad name. You would think a company would care about that. I do understand that these companies give their delivery drivers about 10 hours worth of work in a day and tell them to get it done in 8. But I have never had a problem with UPS. To the contrary, they are most courteous and professional. Even the few times I have had DHL, it has been a pleasant experience.

I think Fedex is possibly suffering from legacy costs that pushed them into that independent company delivery scheme. I have a friend who had a driver career with them which ended in about yr 2000. We worked together at his next job.

He just retired at 58 years old with full pension from Fedex. According to him it's a pretty good amt too. Benefits package included full pension at 55 to all their drivers back in those days. My guess is 5-10 yrs ago they saw that legacy cost wave coming at them, and decided they couldn't support it without a major change.

    Good morning.

I got my youngest son a recliner for Christmas, it is being delivered by freight truck, thank goodness, and supposed to be here between Tuesday and Thursday.

Yeah haven't had good luck with Fed Ex or UPS but worse with Fed Ex. Shipping a shotgun to Oregon next week for warranty work and will use US Post Office. More expensive but best luck with them. Decided to sell 2 shotguns that I hardly shoot anymore on Gunbroker this week because now is the time to sell. And will replace them both with a custom order shotgun from Pacific Sporting Arms. I will use US Post Office to ship if\when they sell.

We have Spee-Dee Delivery as a freight carrier here in the Upper Midwest and they blow everyone else away. In price, service and even HazMat fees when ordering primers and powder from Wi. etc. Wish they were a Nationwide carrier.

This so reminds me of George Carlin:

Man originally was cold so he built a house, hot box to live in, warm box, live inside the warm box, pretty cool, cold out here, warm inside the warm box. Everything was nice until he realized the meat didn’t keep in the warm box. So, he built a refrigerator, built a cold box inside the warm box. Meat keeps fine, but the butter doesn’t spread. So he built the butter warmer, put a warm box inside the cold box, inside the warm box. Strange folks...
