I've been a member of TW for about a month now. I see a lot of new trucks and a load of $ put into mods. Just out of curiosity, what does everyone do for a living?

I drive a garbage truck, picking up residential waste. Hard work, but decent money for the area I live in.

I'm an Associate Scientist for Abbott Laboratories. This means I test and validate new hardware/software designs, and troubleshoot/repair medical instruments used in hospitals/labs. It works for me.

Technical support helpdesk for ACS. It's pretty entry level. I troubleshoot hardware/software issues for Burger King stores in the U.S and Canada. It's fun though I get to play God and dial in and screw with stuff on the managers networks haha. Not a bad job for 19 and not even an associates yet.

I'm going to school and heading for a mechanical/aeorospace engineering degree.

Although garbage is not for everyone, I have a lot of fun at work. I get to destroy things all day long. I own the road when I'm on it....go ahead and try to push my 40 ton truck out of the way:p. You wouldn't believe some of the really nice stuff some people throw away.

I use to be a Novell Network Administrator.... Now for the past 4 years... I've been dressing hair... so, I'm a hairsylist. And I make just as much money doing hair as I did networking/PC junky, if not more...

I was a salesman/driver for Pepsi, I hated that job. I make almost as much doing trash and have a whole lot less stress to deal with.

Im a cable splicer/lineman for AT&T. I have a fair amount of education: 2 bachelors and 1/2 a masters (i never finished), with my last degree being technical/computers (networking, programming, etc.). This job offered me the best starting salary (by FAR) and benefits than any networking/admin job I was offered. So I took it. Who knows about the future...:D

A lot of hair stylist rent out a styling place for the day or an hour or whatever. So they don't work for anyone but they do pay rent on a non regular basis. Don't know if thats the case here.

What kind of switches? I worked with AVAYA PBX's (Partner, Merlin, etc.) for a year or so, and started working with Office IP (Avaya's version of VoIP) before i left the company.
