Dobinsons 2016-2023 Taco Suspension Options

anyone have info on the actual spring rates of the Dobinsons lift springs? I am specifically looking for the C59-314 but a chart or table is welcome so I can compare (potentially with other spring manufactures) and potentially adjust as needed. Thanks.

They would be set to the standard/OE coil seat height of 213mm and the coils would then add the lift. They can't be set any lower than that without swaybar interference, but any of the coils listed in the first post can be used on these MRA220's at the 213mm coil seat height.

 

Bracket goes on top of the sway bar brackets on each side. Note to self, it’s easier to fit the reservoir and tighten it up, then mount it. FYI. I also used two P clamps on the rear side of the strut mounts to hold the reservoir line in place and out of the way.

Quick question - what leaf do I need to remove? I bought the 111’s with the intention of removing a leaf until I add more weight.

 

4th one down - the one just above the large overload. You should be left over with 3 main leafs and two overloads. Should look like this when complete:

@Crikeymike or anyone - is there a left/right for the leaf springs? I can't find anything that says there is or is not. Saw this question asked on a couple other forums about the dobinsons springs, no conclusive answer besides a couple people saying that they usually compare springs and whichever has more curve goes on the heavy or driver side. Mine are about identical as far as curve goes.

 

They're the same.

Side specific parts will always be marked driver/passenger or A/B in aftermarket suspension, but in this case, those springs are the same.

PSA for anyone who might still have the MRR front reservoir brackets bolted into the frame. Mine stripped out on the driver's side. I'm replacing them with the new style that bolts onto the swaybar mounting bracket found here.

 

I'm working on getting this figured out. I'm going to be running a SOS slimline front bumper and smittybuilt winch and a diamondback cover full time, rtt when I'm out with the family. This is what I'm looking at buying:

I'd look into a different spring. I have the SSO steel slimline with smittybilt winch, and 352 coils, but should have probably gone with the 354 coils....

Also, it depends on what lift height do you want? What are you shooting for up front with that weight you have?

 

I'm shooting for 2" or so of lift. Much more and I'd have to add UCAs to the build, right?

 

Ok, for 2", the C59-352 would be the way to go.

Yes, 2.5" or more, UCA's are best for a proper alignment, but you can skip them at 2".

I don't see U-bolts in the list there. And you can add greasable pins/bolts for the fixed ends of the springs. Some add them to the shackle end too, but you have to use washers under the heads of the bolts to gain frame clearance, since they go in reverse of the stock bolts so you can get to the grease fitting.
