I’m in the same boat the derale coolers seem to be popular.Hayden comes up a lot. I think they are the OEM provider. @zscott has a massive CSF. I’m leaning towards the Derale for now. The CSF is sweet but no room and take about more work.

Dang it. I did the "fix" for this where you cut a section of hose out and put on the correct size I.D. hose on the coolant tank and a brass coupler to reconnect to the larger I.D. supplied hose. Yesterday when I was changing the oil, I noticed that it is leaking again. When my @mightytacoman coolant overflow tank shows up, I'll be putting in all new hoses and rewiring the 12V power for the pump to a circuit that isn't the emissions pump.

AT fluid has seen better days. Wish me luck going to tackle the ratiotek

How does black stone work package up and send? Never used but would like to know if any damage occurred when the trans overheated in the summer.

Sanity check. First time pulling the trans pan. These sit in the bottom right? Just making sure. Not a fan of semi loose parts when you drop a pan. 3 magnets which make sense.

    Is the ratiotek worth it?

About to find out. @12TRDTacoma and others have been rocking it for many miles and success. If your going lower than 2.8 this or IPT or some other will be key. they can chime in but some shift kit is a nice add. This one is made for boosted applications. I need to swap fluid and filter so bows a good time to do it.

Exactly. Just take your time. I cracked a beer and taking my sweet time. 5 hours at a slow pace but may tackle half today and half tomorrow. We’ll see once I have the valve body off. As you don’t lose anything should be good.

one question did folks use the supplied gasket or buy an OEM one? Something about a cork gasket verse the rubber like OEM had been debating it. If it’s all good I’ll slap it in. I figured it’s prob fine but wanted to get the popular opinion here.

For this, I might take it in to the local AAMCO. Their labor prices are really good and then I don’t have to mess with it.

They replaced the shift solenoid on my wife’s Durango, plus filter change, for parts plus $200. OTD was around $700 and the stealership would have been $1500-2k.

I might just buy the complete valve body from IPT or the other Aussie company if your going that route. You should be able to swap the valve body the tricky parts are in between. I did consider it and was trying to get my brother to help me at his shop but were 3-4 hours away fork each other so hard to plan it when they are super busy. The way I look at it is it forces me to learn more about the truck so if/when something does happen more likely to know what was done or where to look.

Sounds like you need a trouble tree.

    Is it leaking?

    Yes
    X No

    Replace it
    X Leave it alone
