Don’t get overly excited or dependant on that remote start even if you do have it at first, it’ll just be a trial.

The remote start runs through the DCM which communicates with toyota to make sure you have a subscription for it to function after the trial [along with any other sub only options].

 

I know you claim you get pretty dirty, but it would sure be a shame to put some canvas seat covers over those nice leather seats, it really defeats the looks and feel of the leather. Could you talk yourself into just once week or whatever it takes, to just give them a quick wipe with a damp microfiber towel? You may change your mind about putting seat covers on it, once you get the truck. I bet you could quickly wipe the seats in 2 minutes or less.

 

They absolutely shafted that guy. I guess when you're a high volume seller and especially selling a highly desired(or is it low production) vehicle you can bend the rules - and people will still come back. If customer #1 doesn't spend money there they can count on customer 2, 3, 4+ to spend it. This is the same deal with Teslas. They don't give a single sh*t that you want to buy their car, cuz if you don't someone else will. It's sad especially when you're spending this type of money. Even $30k for a Taco isn't pocket change to the average person who's roaming a Toyota lot. Bentley or Ferrari maybe.

That said, I am still trying to figure out if truck has NAVI - how does my carplay navi work.

 

Yes, if you look at my SR Tacoma (light grey interior cloth), its very clean. I do clean my truck weekly. I am not a slob . We just get lots of dust. I vaccum it every saturday inside the barn, give it a wash.

Well, after the initial screw-up, it seems reasonable that they will be careful to not mess this up again. (one would hope!)

Speaking of keys - truck has the button start - so I won't have to fumble with the keys - it seems like.


Though I keep reading people keep turning the 4wd button on here by accident, hope that doens't happen! 1st world problems for sure!

 

With car play, you'll be able to use the maps via the phone. It works well. You'll be set...
I do believe your OR has NAV - but the constantly updated phone maps work better...

 

So basicaly the OEM nav is not gonna be used, just use my carplay nav. great! Thank you

That's a great outcome to a shitty situation. Fingers crossed the delivery goes well and all is fine by the time the dust settles. Hell of a deal! Glad they made things right.
Pretty much have the same truck (just short box), and I was sort of overwhelmed with all the features (coming up from daily driving an '07 STI). Every time I drive this thing, I'm just stoked.

Interior lights are dim as hell - definitely a useful cheap upgrade to shoot for is LED interior lights. I kind of assumed they would come standard with LED interior lights in this day and age tbh.

Can you post some pics of your truck? I have no idea my truck - since its sight unseen. I was hoping for body colored fenders, but will live with the black. Its just on old toyota the plastic fenders fade so bad (my 01 tacoma did that) with the heat we have out here.

I am intersted to see the interior leatehr and the hedlights during the day to see if the design is like the ACURA tlx or so

For the black exterior plastics there is a spray you can buy named Maxima SC1. This will protect and keep the black plastics and rubber black.

 

I also have the 303 stuff. Maybe that will work too?

 

Be sure to replace engine air and cabin filters often.

 

Built in nav works just fine but, may not get updates after trial Toyota connect expires. It will still work.

Not telling you to lift truck (unless you put bigger tires), I “leveled” mine when I replaced/upgraded to Billstein 5100s struts and shocks, and even with that, haven’t needed to put bars on truck (looks cleaner without them)...

ordered seat covers (Costco) ....the Carthart are a little pricey for me

Navigation will be on all time....map displayed, you most likely will be able to split screen to use other functions....

I have JBL audio in my 2010 Sport......JBL is an upgraded sound system......usually 6 speakers with an amplifier.......your Country music will sound real good......there will be some audio adjustment options to custom what sounds good to you (enhance) thru the screen.
