Take a look at the Hella H9 Performance 2.0 bulbs listed in post #2. They are a little whiter without sacrificing too much in output and are the 2nd best performing behind the Philips H9s. If looking for true white, their color temp may not be high enough for your liking.

I've heard this is common unfortunately. Fortunately this forum has not gone down that path yet. Science>marketing.

Be careful. It's rampant here. Don't ask me how I know.

No, Amazon is sold out of the H11s so it defaults to a bulb type they have in stock.

The correct H11s are in stock here:

Got an extra set of ge h11s 130s by accident. Feel free to pm me!

I finally got around to the Phillips h9 mod and replaced the fogs - output is so much better. Thank you for this intel and recommendations in this thread!

Curious did you ever test the upgraded rigid system?

Just got my spare pair of Philips H9 lamps from Rockauto. German made, less than 19 bucks per pair shipped to my home.

little bit of here and a little bit of that...
So the Diode Max outperforms the Stock Rigids on the 20’ trd pros? I’ve got a set of diode Max and ave not installed them yet. Just waiting on some fog light bezels. Just curious how better it is?

might just upgrade to oem led headlights I wish I would have known when I bought my Tacoma it was part of a package that was only 400 bucks instead I got a package with a crappy tennuel cover oh well, do you know if the adapter harness for those lights retains the factory head unit headlight controls as well in the vehicle options menu on the entune Thanks

Yes. Max>Pro>Sport with the caveat that the Pros have softer cut offs and more glare, but still within legal limits.

By Far. The OEM Rigid Pros fogs are easily outperformed by the Rigid D-series fogs. In white: Rigid TRD Pro ~204 lux, Rigid D-series 395 lux, Diode Dynamics Max 697 lux.

As far as I know the adapter harness works just like stock, unless you have an SR5 then there are some complications.

We are (mostly @Puppypunter is) working though SR OEM LED harnesses. I think he has it pretty much good to go. There is a thread for it.

I’m not sure I understand the question about head unit controls and headlights. You mean in terms of how long they stay on after exiting and locking the vehicle? That’s all ECU, not any smarts in the headlights.

    They are legit.

Phillips H9 lows & Diode Dynamics SS3 Max fogs. 20’ with driveway angled slightly back.

Excellent setup for foul weather. Spent a little on lows then a lot on fogs.

Difficult to determine in the photo, but looks like your fogs might be aimed a little high. Did you confirm a drop in the pattern from the mounting height?

Yes thanks saw the fog aiming diagram in the other thread but tough to find a perfectly flat surface for 25’ so drop was confirmed, but less as measured at a closer distance.

Driveway is angled back in those pics. Confident that the lows are aimed correct vertically, so aimed upper cutoff of fogs just below hotspot of lows per DD instructions. Do the fogs look right in relation to the lows to you?
