Gracenote improves voice recognition for music search, letting Toyota drivers and passengers access their favorite artists and albums with simple voice commands. Where this really comes into play is with hard to pronounce artist names, irregular spellings and nicknames.

no, OEM SD cards with maps on them 99/100 are locked and cannot be accessed via a laoptop without brute forcing your way in. meaning you cannot update the map you have and will need a new SD card with a newer map on it. Or at least this was the case 5 years ago.

There are ways to download ripped copies of newer maps and simply put them into a new SD card that just plugs in.

Just update the map every 10 years or so. the last map i had didn't even have the Redhill valley built in Hamilton and it has a spasm every time i drive through it. Rarely will you need a "latest map" for anything local. If you can't find it, you have a phone with data to search for it.

The 2019 card doesn't even have the empire developments in Caledonia. Those are at least 3 years old

Yeah most maps are 2-3 years old before they are added in. you'll never get a up to date "2020" map in 2020.

I'm wondering if the 2019 map sd (which is really mid-2018) will be the last since the 2020+ are cardless. Fully realizing that the nav is less than ideal anyway. It can be a little helpful some of the time.

I wish you the best of luck figuring out those fancy keys.

I bought my taco used as well from these guys https://www.californiaclassics.ca/ and was only given one key......The deal seemed a bit sketchy at the time and I also did not get any keys for my awesome camper shell.

I went to my local hardware store and they had Toyota blanks and I was able to get keys cut for $2.75 each! I bought 7 of them and keep one cable tied and hidden in the frame for emergency use. Those blanks are hard to fine nowadays.

The original factory Toyota key eventually wore out and will not even turn and unlock the ignition switch.

When your truck is 20 years old the simplicity of it sure makes things easier to fix and figure out.....I don’t even have intermittent wipers!

The picture below is one of the cut keys.

Nope looks nothing like a Tacoma  That color isn't called "cement" either.

And Nissan did a similar thing as Toyota by evolving the 2nd gen frame and suspension, except Nissan is 5 years late...

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You damn kids, today! You should learn to turn a dial like I had to do back in the 80’s!

How about one of these....I’ve never seen another one and it was hanging on the wall in my cabin when I bought it 20 years ago.
    Has anyone ever seen one?
