No need to go to the dealer for software updates. Here is a link to the Toyota website to download updates to your Entune system. Mine had a OS upgrade dated March 2017 to fix the random reboot issue. I downloaded and installed the update. Time will tell if it's fixed.

Must not be any for yours. I've been waiting forever to get an update for my 2nd gen. Not sure how long this website has been around but it hasn't been too long. Used to have to have the dealer update the software. Glad Toyota finally let us do it ourselves.

No updates for either Entune system for my '15.

Never had an issue with it though.

Hmmm...seems not all updates are on the site. It had what I needed though. Keep checking back for future updates...

Thank god, the reboots have been driving me nuts. Hope this resolves that.

Mine came with this update when I bought it new, and so far I have never had a reboot in the 3 weeks of owning it.

I have a 2015 with Navigation. I have random reboots, maybe once/twice a week, it's not terrible. I went to the download site and pulled down the latest update for my radio and followed the installation instructions. The option to upgrade was grayed out; apparently this is because I have the latest version of software for that radio.

Has anyone else had the same experience with the infrequent reboots and latest version of the software?

I solved my problem. The first USB drive was 30GB, that may be too large for the radio to read. If the radio cant read the USB drive for some reason it behaves as though you have the latest update. I copied the update to a freshly formatted 3GB drive and was able to complete the installation successfully. The update software button was NOT grayed out and I was able to proceed.

My Entune works fine. But I wouldn't mind having any updates if they were available. Wish I was smart enough to do this. :pout:

Maybe a little off topic, but when Entune wants to connect to the Internet, through the phone for an update, is there anyway to save the password and user name so I don’t have to re-enter it? It should know it’s my phone - it’s connected to the vehicle - so maybe a click-through, or god forbid allow TouchID (fingerprint)? It’s really a hassle to key in that stuff when I want to start driving, and I don’t see much security risk. 2016 TRD OR with iPhone 6 and iOS11. Thanks.

Just a fyi, if you get a “New software is not compatible with the system.” message while trying to update the software. Remove the SD card and try again. For some reason it causes the update to fail.

You have to go to the dealer, they will not let you do that update online. Just had mine done on my 15 fixed All the problems, freezing up and rebooting. If you have access to Toyota Techstream you can view all the updates.
